The quiz consists of five rounds: * By George - Famous people called George * Geography - Red and White flags * MFL - Pairing up animals in English and Dutch * Pictures - Scenes from Christmas films * Music - 90s music The rounds with a time limit on them (all bar music) are designed to move on automatically (after 5 minutes for the majority or 20 seconds per picture). 3 MOTDOKU6 games (Les expressions avoir)

3 MOTDOKU6 games (Les expressions avoir)

IMHO, the old-fashioned practice of writing out vocabulary for mastery still works academic wonders. But it is a much maligned approach so I’m always looking for ways to camouflage it as fun. As students solve these 3 MOTDOKUS (word sudokus) they will inadvertently “write out” the 15 “expressions avoir” listed below: to be thirsty - avoir soif to be hungry - avoir faim to be cold - avoir froid to be hot - avoir chaud to be wrong - avoir tort to be right - avoir raison to be sick - avoir mal to be x years old - avoir x ans to need - avoir besoin de to be ashamed - avoir honte to be sleepy - avoir sommeil to be afraid - avoir peur to have the giggles - avoir le fou rire to be lucky - avoir de la chance to feel like, to want - avoir envie de To see if MOTDOKU6? games are right for your students, try the free MOTDOKU6 (Noël) resource: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/motdoku6-no-l-11448787

"GET THE PICTURE?” (Kleren)

"GET THE PICTURE?” (Kleren)

Designed to help beginners master their ”kleren” vocabulary, this game is for independent work and study buddy activity. Once players have finished matching each vocabulary card with its corresponding picture card, they flip over all the pairs to check their own work. Matching icons on the back of flipped pairs confirm that the task has been well done. Icons that don’t match tell players that it’s time to try again. This file includes two 28-card decks. To get an idea of how "GET THE PICTURE?” cards work, download the free resource, “GET THE PICTURE? Perfect Pics© For Learning Language Digital Version

Perfect Pics© For Learning Language Digital Version

Language educators know that pictures are indispensable for the many visual learners in the language classroom. That's why the 596 pictures in the Perfect Pics© For Learning Language Digital Version, book have been developed. Teachers realize that pictures are mandatory in the language classroom for all levels and all ages. They help in many ways: - Visual learners learn better when they can see what they are learning or hearing. - Non-readers (either due to age, ability, or unfamiliarity with the writing system) need pictures as they acquire new words. -Translation is not needed if pictures are used and therefore acquisition is faster and more permanent. - Activities and games using pictures are very helpful and fun. - Oral work is made possible with picture stimuli. - Flashcards or individual picture dictionaries - Use for visually responding to songs or other listening activities One of the main advantages to using Perfect Pics © is that there are very many verbs, adjectives and other pictures. These are very accessible and ready for you to put on your quizzes, flashcards, games, exercises and more. There are patterns and suggestions for use in the back, as well as answers or labels in English French, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic. Of course ANY language learners can benefit from using these pictures, regardless of language. The digital pictures included are: 32 everyday expressions subject pronouns (You- singular, plural, formal and more) Numbers Colors 112 verbs Prepositions of place 48 adjectives school body clothes family house weather 64 food pics nature 48 animals (good for science teachers, too) 32 places professions transportation extra subject pronouns (especially designed for learning Arabic) (These pictures are excellent to use FOR YOUR CLASSROOM ONLY- NOT FOR YOUR PUBLICATIONS OR FOR YOUR FRIEND. It is clip art, but not copyright free clip art.)

Dutch Halloween Skeleton Counting Song - PowerPoint + Halloween Worksheets + 31 Teaching Ideas

Do you teach Dutch? Use my Halloween materials to boost their learning in a fun way! You learn a counting song in Dutch. I have also included a Halloween themed worksheet which you could ask the children to translate into Dutch. I have also included a presentation showing you 31 different ways the students could then use their worksheets to create new teaching activities in the classroom. You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different skeletons being shown in each of the photos. You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching display about the Halloween Skeleton Counting Song. The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into different groups of skeletons. The students can then discuss what they think each skeleton was saying or thinking. The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing.

57 Dutch Setting Cards For Conversation Practice

57 Dutch Setting Cards For Conversation Practice

Welcome to the Let’s Talk in Dutch! pack. This set of cards looks at 57 different settings. The teacher describes something in the top card. The students then use this to model a sentence using the bottom set of pictures. There are lots of things to see and describe in every picture. What works very well is for the two pictures to be directly projected on a wall. The teacher talks about the top picture, such as 'In my picture, I can see two seagulls flying.'... then the students model their responses, using the sentence structure provided by the teacher.
