SPANISH INTERACTIVE CULTURAL PROJECTS Descubriendo El Nuevo Mundo Vol.1: Central America

SPANISH INTERACTIVE CULTURAL PROJECTS Descubriendo El Nuevo Mundo Vol.1: Central America

SPANISH INTERACTIVE CULTURAL PROJECTS Descubriendo El Nuevo Mundo Vol.1 Central America - Reading Comprehension - Cut and paste Activity - Group Discussion - Poster Design & Creation - Writing Activity The following project pack contains 3 sections: 1. COUNTRY INFORMATION EXTRACTS 2. PICTURE ELEMENTS 3. POSTER TEMPLATES COUNTRY INFORMATION EXTRACTS are short texts containing information on the country in question. Students are to read each extracts and make notes of the important points as a reading comprehension activity. The PICTURE ELEMENTS have been specifically designed to portray information contained in the extracts. Students are then presented with the POSTER TEMPLATES, there is 1 poster template for each of the countries in question. Each template has 4 blank spaces each of which should contain a cutout of a picture element. Next to each space there are blank lines for a short paragraph to be written. An option would be to divide students into small groups and assigning a different central american country to each group. Within each group, students will discuss the main information points relevant to the country assigned, select 4 picture elements relevant to the country and together come up with 4 short paragraphs relating the picture to the country on the basis of what they have learned from the extract. This is a multi-level project activity as the length and complexity of the paragraph can be adjusted to the level of the students in questions. EXTENSION: This project can lead onto a bigger and more independent activity, where students go on to carry out their own research on the assigned country (in other words they create their own extracts) and proceed to nd suitable images or even their own drawings to create large posters. Ultimately they would have to produce short paragraphs relating their images/drawings to the information collected. Total no. of pages: 31

Spanish (Latin Pop) Song Activities : Lyrics|Mp3 Karaoke Tracks| Activity Sheets

Teaching pack material includes: Full lyrics for each of the 3 songs in question ( Mientes - Camila | AL Sudeste Moneda Dura | El Problema - Ricardo Arjona) Mp3 backing tracks for each of the songs, to give students the opportunity to perform the song. Language comprehension activities at the end of each song I cannot include the original versions of the songs in this pack due to copyright reasons, however the backing tracks were created by me transcribing the full arrangements by ear, mixing and mastering each track as to create a realistic instrumental version of the original track. GIANT Spanish Culturopoly Board Game

GIANT Spanish Culturopoly Board Game

The second of our GIANT Board Games, Culturopoly focuses on teaching students about the important people, products, and places of the countries of Mexico, Spain, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Panama, Costa Rica, Cuba, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Venezuela. This is a great whole-class game that transforms the floor of your classroom into a giant board game. With a style of game play similar to Monopoly, students travel around the game board collecting cultural facts about the various countries. Once they gather enough facts, if they land on a "maleta" space, they can answer some trivia questions about a particular country in order to earn a "boleto de ida y vuelta". The team with the most "boletos" at the end end of the game wins. The best part of this game is that it is easily adaptable to any age group and proficiency level. With three different difficulty levels (Easy, Medium, Hard), it is perfect for an exploratory or Latin American Studies class all the way through an upper level Spanish class. While the Easy mode allows for students with no knowledge of Spanish, the Medium mode starts to introduce target language terms for students with minimal Spanish language proficiency, and the Hard mode focuses on play completely in the target language. This is a great way to review for culture portions of midterm or final exams, or for any day that you just need something different. In the future, there will be expansion packs to add different Spanish-speaking countries to the game. Either way, any teacher will get a LOT of use out of this one game. This Resource Includes: -Complete Set-up and Game Play Instructions for each mode -Fifty 8 1/2 x 11 Game Spaces with pictures representative of cultural items -12 Boletos de Ida y Vuelta (one per country) -12 Easy Difficulty Country Challenge Cards w/ answer keys -12 Medium Difficulty Country Challenge Cards w/ answer keys -12 Hard Difficulty Country Challenge Cards w/ answer keys -36 Culture Fact Cards

Spanish Song Gapfills

Spanish Song Gapfills

Spanish songs from recent charts which include gapfill activities for students - I use them with GCSE to reinforce key vocabulary in different contexts. They include Pereza, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Levia, El Canto Del Loco, Enrique Iglesias. Morat etc... This links well to the new cultural aspect of GCSE and lead to my students listening to more of these songs at home on Spotify etc. I Just load the song up on youtube and play it through twice and then explore the grammar in more depth! Enjoy!
