Resources designed to aid classroom management for Cover Staff/Teachers toolbox. 1x number cards 1-10. Printed on different A5 coloured card and laminated. These are used to create groups/table numbers to aid activities. 1x numbered cards 1-30. 2x sets of these printed out of A4 two different colours. Cards inidividually cut out and laminated to create two sets of 1-30 little cards. One set can be given out to students, the other kept by the teacher and randomly selecting a number to target students to questioning, building on ‘no hands up’ rule so the same students don’t always answer. 1x 1-10 Scrap Pad. These were printed off A6 size and glue together at the top to created scrap pads. 100 slips per pad. Ideal for when students enter the classroom, giving them a slip and creating on the stop starter activities. Name top ten etc. 1x A-Z Scrap Pad. These were printed off A6 size and glue together at the top to created scrap pads. 100 slips per pad. Cut out these cards and let your students play taboo. Split your class in two groups, the first student of group A has to describe the word on the card - he/she is neither allowed to talk any word in her mother tongue nor to say one of the words below the pictures. Exploring Stereotyped Bodies - Addressing gender stereotypes from primary to adult age range

This activity explores how gender stereotypes are created and maintained. It is suitable for primary to adults (Have trialled it with all) as differentiation is by outcome. The basic premise is to draw and write all the stereotypes of boys/men in one body and all the stereotypes of girls/women in another body. Then list where the messages come from about how the two bodies should be down the centre between the two bodies. Draw arrows to show the pressure on the bodies. around the outside of the bodies we also list the names or situations that can occur for bodies that do not follow the rules. The question is posed “what is the easiest thing for bodies to do- if to step outside their stereotyped body leads to abuse”. The answer is of course remain in our stereotyped bodies- reinforcing them for ourselves and everyone around us. Discussion then explores how we can create spaces for us all to challenge stereotypes and live free from the constraints of stereotypes.
