This Bundle is for teachers of GCSE dance teaching GCSE Dance to Y10 pupils. It includes everything you need to prepare your Year 10s for Year 11. Each 6 week SOW focuses on one of the professional works from the GCSE Dance anthology; exploring the professional work through choreography, performance and appreciation tasks (following the advice from AQA). This bundle is tried and tested as it is the second year that I have used the included resources. I am proud to say that my pupils have enjoyed the variety of tasks included and have felt confident completing year 10 in preparation for Year 11. This KS4 GCSE Dance: Within Her Eyes 6 Week delivery PowerPoint is for teachers of AQA GCSE Dance. It is designed to be taught in the 6th half term of Year 10 (after teaching Emancipation of Expressionism, Artificial Things, Shadows A Linha Curva and Infra) following the advice from AQA. It is to be used with AQA’s resources such as the Within Her Eyes fact file and video links. Within the 6 week delivery PowerPoint there are theory and practical lessons to explore the professional work of Within Her Eyes. Each lesson comes with lesson starters in the form of ‘bell activities’/’Talking Points’ and lesson objectives. Homework tasks and all resources needed for this PowerPoint are included. Although the main theme of this delivery PowerPoint is Within Her Eyes, this SOW also includes teaching the Shift set phrase. Please note that the anthology megamix that is mentioned in the SOW refers to an audio file (included) that is a mix of the music used in all 6 anthology pieces. In my previous SOW (Infra) pupils created a megamix dance that included key motifs from the anthology to help pupils remember them. In this SOW pupils create the last section (Within Her Eyes) – If you have not purchased my KS4 Infra SOW, you can simply use the Within Her Eyes section of the megamix to choreograph a short within Her Eyes piece in isolation from the megamix dance itself. RADS Keywords Resource This is a great and very useful choreography tool which can be used for beginners and advanced students. The document has envelope templates and keywords to print at home. Difficulty: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Time: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Instructions Print off sheets 1 - 4 on card (if possible) Print off sheets 5 - 10 on paper Laminate sheets 5 - 10 Cut out the individual words which will now be laminated Cut out the envelopes (which may be faint) - Double click the envelope outline in word and change the opacity to make darker and more visible Fold the corners of the envelope in and glue the joins of the bottom three, leaving the top one free to open/ close Put the words in the correct envelopes Use and have fun!

How does the assessment rubric work? *Gymnastics Skill Descriptor * to be used for years 7-11. Produced in a user friendly format for both teachers and students alike. Accommodates both an attainment 8 format of assessment and (or) a sub level grading system. How does the assessment rubric work? •The difficulty of the skills are grouped from easy – hard. •The progress continuum along the left hand side indicates the main skills that each student at that age group should be able to perform. •The skill level number links to attainment 8 and should allow teachers to accurately calculate individual levels. Eg. Student ‘X’ in Year 7 is able to perform all the Year 7 skills in addition to 2 year 8 skills. His/ her level is therefore 4+4+4+4+4+5+5 /8= 4.4. From this you are able to see that this student is .4 above their expected grade level. • If using a sublevel grading system, the scores should be calculated using the following method. 1-2 skills from each table should result in a C or .3 being awarded e.g. If a student achieved 2 skills from the level 4 table, then their score is 4C or 4.3. If student is able to achieve 3-4 skills from a table, their score should be displayed as a B or .5. e.g. If a students achieved 4 skills from level 5 table, then their score should be displayed as 5B or 5.5. If all skills are achieved student should be award A or .8. e.g. a student who is able to perform all level 6 skills should be awarded a score of 6A or 6.8. Disclaimer Please note: Individual schools will have different demographics and cohorts. As such you may wish to change the grade boundaries/ expectations to make these more easily attainable or harder. This is done at the schools’ discretion. Furthermore, you may find that some students may not be able to perform all of their expected levels but yet still achieve 1 or 2 skills from other areas. This is unavoidable and as such requires you to use your professional judgement as to award the correct level. Like all assessment tools, this is fluid and can be adapted as and when you feel the need to.

NEW GCSE Dance Terminology test/quiz

Within the new GCSE Dance specification, the students require a wide range of knowledge which in turn demands the initial understanding of specific terminology with many different catergories address in the specification content, for example physical skills, choreographic devices, aural setting, performance environment, safe practice etc. This powerpoint lists all the categories and topic that are covered in the 40% written component and can be used as a game/quiz as each heading appears first giving time for students to either, call out for points, discuss with partner, or just work independently to formulate a list in response. Great light revision activity for those final days leading up to the written exam.

Dance Skill Descriptor (Year 7-11)

How does the assessment rubric work? *Dance Skill Descriptor * to be used for years 7-11. Produced in a user friendly format for both teachers and students alike. Accommodates both an attainment 8 format of assessment and (or) a sub level grading system. How does the assessment rubric work? •The difficulty of the skills are grouped from easy – hard. •The progress continuum along the left hand side indicates the main skills that each student at that age group should be able to perform. •The skill level number links to attainment 8 and should allow teachers to accurately calculate individual levels. Eg. Student ‘X’ in Year 7 is able to perform all the Year 7 skills in addition to 2 year 8 skills. His/ her level is therefore 4+4+4+4+4+5+5 /8= 4.4. From this you are able to see that this student is .4 above their expected grade level. • If using a sublevel grading system, the scores should be calculated using the following method. 1-2 skills from each table should result in a C or .3 being awarded e.g. If a student achieved 2 skills from the level 4 table, then their score is 4C or 4.3. If student is able to achieve 3-4 skills from a table, their score should be displayed as a B or .5. e.g. If a students achieved 4 skills from level 5 table, then their score should be displayed as 5B or 5.5. If all skills are achieved student should be award A or .8. e.g. a student who is able to perform all level 6 skills should be awarded a score of 6A or 6.8. Disclaimer Please note: Individual schools will have different demographics and cohorts. As such you may wish to change the grade boundaries/ expectations to make these more easily attainable or harder. This is done at the schools’ discretion. Furthermore, you may find that some students may not be able to perform all of their expected levels but yet still achieve 1 or 2 skills from other areas. This is unavoidable and as such requires you to use your professional judgement as to award the correct level. Like all assessment tools, this is fluid and can be adapted as and when you feel the need to.

This resource is a music file that I created using audio clips from the 6 professional works from the dance anthology. The clips have been mixed together to create an anthology megamix. I have used the megamix within 2 of my uploaded resources (KS4 GCSE Dance Infra and Y9 GCSE Dance Taster Anthology). It can be used within lessons and/or used as the music for a performance piece. KS4 GCSE Dance: Infra 6 Week delivery PowerPoint and Resources

This KS4 GCSE Dance: Infra 6 Week delivery PowerPoint is for teachers of AQA GCSE Dance. It is designed to be taught in the fifth half term of Year 10 (after teaching Emancipation of Expressionism, Artificial Things, Shadows and A Linha Curva) following the advice from AQA. It is to be used with AQA’s resources such as the Infra fact file and video links. Within the 6 week delivery PowerPoint there are theory and practical lessons to explore the professional work of Infra. Each lesson comes with lesson starters in the form of ‘bell activities’/’Talking Points’ and lesson objectives. Homework tasks and all resources needed for this PowerPoint are included. Although the main theme of this delivery PowerPoint is Infra, this SOW begins by teaching pupils a set phrase mega mix (music included) in which all sections of the dance anthology are represented (ignore the ‘Within Her Eyes’ music at the end of the mix. That comes later in the ‘Within Her Eyes SOW’). The point of this is to recap the 5 anthology dances studied so far, looking at the key motifs in each. Breathe is also introduced at the end of the SOW.
