Understanding exponential growth and decay

Understanding exponential growth and decay

Students are guided through a set of investigative prompts that explore exponential change in real-life situations, allowing them to build up an understanding of what exponential growth/decay actually means and how it can be expressed algebraically and graphically - and why. An accompanying commentary provides answers with explanations. After using this resource, most students can create models of the type y=k(a^x), explain the graphical behaviour of this function and give examples of real life occurrences.

Limits and Continuity Study Guide

Limits and Continuity Study Guide

This study guide provides an in-depth review of terms, concepts, and example problems related to limits and continuity. Topics include estimating and evaluating limits, resolving indeterminate form, infinite limits and limits at infinity, continuity, and Intermediate Value Theorem. Although specifically designed for AP Calculus AB, this resource could be used with almost any calculus course. Students can quickly familiarize themselves with the related concepts and go through corresponding examples with solutions. Targeted review assignments could correspond to this study guide, further allowing students to determine their grasp of the included concepts. [Page numbers correspond to Larson Seventh Edition]

IAL C34 Specimen Paper - without space

IAL C34 Specimen Paper - without space

This is the IAL C34 Specimen Question Paper (free sample). Only questions appear in the document without any written space. I have written the paper using LaTeX ( a high quality typesetting document preparation system) and compiled to get the PDF output. Teachers and tutors can now easily save paper and print the question paper for exam practice and revision purposes of their students. The omission of writing space is a huge advantage in saving ink and paper, because original papers comes with a lot of empty space for the answer. The LaTeX written paper have all the math beautifully formatted and typeset even to the minor details. The question paper comes with a cover page for reference. Teachers can opt out this page if necessary when giving for print. Mark scheme is attached. NB: Here is a link to my store @TpT: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Smart-A-Level-Math

Geometry: Trigonometry 10 - transforming trig graphs (+ worksheet)

Geometry: Trigonometry 10 - transforming trig graphs (+ worksheet)

This is the fourth lesson that I would teach on trig graphs and builds on understanding of transforming functions, by looking at transforming trigonometric graphs. This comes with excellent teaching examples, a starter, key words and learning objectives, a worksheet with answers, a handout of rules to learn and plenary. When pupils are comfortable with the worksheet that I have given, then I normally get them to work on past exam questions. This lesson comes as a much bigger bundle on trigonometry. There are several bundles on trigonometry that I offer, depending on whether you want simple the KS4 material or the additional KS5 material. I have also made available a bundle just on trigonometric graphs, that includes two lessons on radians. Do check the different bundles available. I do recommend these, because my lessons form a natural sequence / series together and they do have a cheaper average cost this way. NOTE: Feel free to browse my shop for more excellent free and premium resources and as always please rate and feedback, thanks.

Differentiated quadratic graphs with answers

Differentiated quadratic graphs with answers

This resource is a word document which contains colour-coded, differentiated questions on quadratic graph functions. The questions increase in difficulty. There is also an extension activity which requires students to determine whether a coordinate is part of a quadratic graph. The answers to the quadratic graph functions are presented in an xy table of coordinates. The answers to the extension questions are also provided. All answers to all questions can be found on the word file. This resource can be used for HA in KS3-KS4. It could also act as a starter activity for KS5. I hope you enjoy using this resource.
