Literacy Year 1 - Autumn 1 Planning using the new framework

Planning for the first 3 phases of the fiction (narrative) unit. Looking at stories using familiar settings, I have used ‘The Shopping List’ by John Burningham, Dogger by Shirley Hughes and Beegu by Alexis Deacon as starting points for the reading/responding section. It’s not completely finished, I haven’t put any phonics activities in yet but its mainly because its 2 months before I need to use it and I can’t justify spending ages on it yet! In case you wondered, in phase 2, Ruby (who goes missing) is our school mascot!

Getting to know you!

Getting to know you!

A word document which encourages children to share their likes/dislikes and to identify their personal targets and learning styles. I created it for my Y6 class, but it’s easily adaptable. It’s the first time I’ve uploaded a resource, I hope someone finds it useful!!!

Measures - capacity and length

Measures - capacity and length

2 easiteach lessons. First pages are MO starters on inverse operations. The last pages contain questions for plenary based on AFL questions from the New Framework. There are also links to games etc - fiddle around with them and you'll find everything. I'm afraid I couldn't manage to upload the worksheets to go with them as I kept getting an 'Invalid file' message, but hope these are useful!

George Square Glasgow Treasure Hunt

George Square Glasgow Treasure Hunt

Treasure Hunt activity for children to use around Glasgow's George Square (very specific to Glasgow I know sorry! - have seen a lot of classes hanging about there eating their lunches and getting up to mischief, so when I took my own class there, we decided to give them a focus!)

roadworks photographs

I wanted some pictures to go with some small world play that I was making.Think the resource is good for getting the boys to focus on words and letters.
