GCSE German AQA General Conversation Theme 2 - Questions and answers

GCSE German AQA General Conversation Theme 2 - Questions and answers

This resource is an example of the General Conversation (Theme 2) for GCSE German. This book is ideal to show students what is expected of them in the General Conversation. Information and questions are colour-coded for foundation and higher level students. Key questions (those using tenses) are starred so that students know which questions they must learn to maximise their marks. The chilli icon is used to document challenge and super challenge questions, for those students attempting to secure higher level grades such as grade 9. Some questions are multiple-choice, so that questions can be tailored to students’ personalities, circumstances and abilities. There is an answer booklet attached, showing students the type of vocabulary needed for each answer.

❤️ Look out for more ❤️ This is the first of more “Erklärbär” games to be published and I am glad to share this wonderful game with you. It is great fun for learners to actually use their language skills to describe a word and the others guessing it. ❤️ About me ❤️ Hi there 👋🏼! I´m Cindy from Leipzig, Germany. I have been a German and English teacher for more than 12 years now. And I love coffee breaks ☕️. Coffee is just great. Over the years I have realized how much my students benefit most from lessons where THEY are the leaders, where THEY are encouraged to be proactive and learn from each other. Handing over the reins to my students doesn’t make me weaker as a teacher. It makes them responsible for their own learning and is highly motivating. I don’t want my students to be sailors. I want them to be CAPTAINS! (And I want coffee!) My teaching resources are all designed to enable students to USE the language. This is why you will always find the communicative approach in my resources - even simple crosswords come with ideas for speaking activities. All of my resources have been tested in class and will be updated regularly. Please rate my resources to help me build a reputation among millions of resources. Timetable speaking activity and worksheet

Timetable speaking activity and worksheet

The first activity is partner work where students need to ask questions to be able to complete a timetable. Students then need to write sentences to describe the parts of the timetable which are highlighted. Students really enjoy this activity.

Year 7 German - School subjects

Year 7 German - School subjects

At least a week’s worth of work geared to building students’ confidence in asking and answering questions about school subjects. The questions and answers have been inspired by Pearson’s KS3 and KS4 assessments along with AQA’s specimen material. We’ve been trialling a new approach following student voice interviews. We are now introducing students to new language through a mixture of reading, listening and translation into English before moving on to speaking. Since taking this approach, we’ve seen students’ willingness to speak shoot up, as have their speaking grades. A pleasant surprise! This PowerPoint and workbook set is good to go. The notes pages on the first slide of the PowerPoint provide information about resources along with an overview of the lesson. Subsequent slides contain additional tips. The PowerPoint and ‘8 questions-8 opinions’ workbook are designed to be used together in the lesson, whereas the ‘Key questions for this chapter’ workbook is for homework. As students study a unit in class, they complete that section at home.
