#### World Cup Top Trumps

Contains a set of 32 custom Top Trump cards based around the 32 teams participating in the 2018 World Cup. Each card has different colours based on the country and has stats based on: Fifa ranking, Population, Area Ranking, World Cups Won and World Cup Appearances. Perfect as part of a World Cup topic or as a fun activity at the end of a lesson or when children have a spare time. Best used when laminated.

#### Shape Match - 2D Shapes, Shape Mat Shape Cards and Labels Practical Fun Activity

This is a fun matching hands-on activity working with 2D shapes. Aimed at: Early Years/Year 1, SEN and children learning English. &lt;strong&gt;Content:&lt;/strong&gt; Ten sets of Shape Match Mats – Set 1 to Set 12 Ten sets of Shape Cards – Set 1 to Set 12 Labels for shapes Shapes used: square, circle, triangle, rectangle, oval, pentagon, diamond/rhombus, heart, star, crescent and trapezium shape. The mats are whole page landscape and should be printed onto card and laminated. Each mat displays various shapes in different positions, size and colour. For each mat there are sets of shapes which should be printed onto card or good quality paper and then cut out ready for the children to start the matching activity. The cut out shapes are placed on top of the correct shapes shown on the Shape Mat. The shape, colour and size should match. The higher the set number, the more shapes are used. More than one shape card can be placed on top of a shape. This is an opportunity for children to count the number of matching shapes, describe colours and shapes. Included are shape labels - you may want to use these to revise shapes with the children. I keep the numbered sets together so that they do not get mixed up, i.e. Set 1 Shape Cards stored away with Shape Match Mat 1; Set 2 Shape Cards kept with Shape Match Mat 2 etc. Please have a look at the preview pane. #### World Cup 2018 - Maths Challenges

Contains 3 separate Maths activities based around the 2018 World Cup. The first focuses on using a variety of maths skills to work out different questions based on the seating capacity in the Russian World Cup stadiums. The second looks at ticket pricing and gives children word problems to complete. The final challenge is a World Cup Sudoku challenge.

The presentation includes: Lesson objectives Two slides with animations about Pythagoras Theorem Slides with MWBs Activities Climb the ladder - I usually give students about 6 min to climb up the ladder as much as they can. It defines what level they will start from afterwards Differentiated worksheets with answers - first level is Grade 3/4, second level is Grade 4/5 and third level is Grade 5/6. There is a word document with the worksheets but I usually print from the presentation and I only change the printer properties to two pages per one and every two slides will be printed off on one A4 sheet. Series of 4 lessons on solving trigonometric equations for Y12, A Level Pure Year 1 (old spec AS). Student work used to accompany this was from student textbook, but all teaching is included in PPT. Included: Series of 4 powerpoints for 4 successive lessons on trigonometric equations.

#### Angles in Parallel Lines Lesson

Lesson on Angles in Parallel Lines Starter: Multiple choice starter for students to respond on whiteboard Main 1: Relay task to be completed in groups Main 2: Bronze/Silver/Gold worksheets (these contained screen grabs from other material but I cannot remember where so are not included for copyright reasons. These can easily be replaced with similar worksheets). Plenary: Quick-fire review questioning. Included: Full lesson plan, PPT with teaching materials and timers, relay activity sheets.

#### Changing the Subject Exit Tickets

Differentiated RAG Exit tickets on changing the subject of a formula. Students were able to pick their own level of difficulty, and were required to complete a ticket at the end of the lesson as their ‘ticket’ to leave. Included: PDF and published doc for editing if needed.

#### Changing the Subject Ladder Worksheet

Ladder style worksheet on Changing the Subject - differentiated by outcome. Students begin at the bottom of the worksheet, and work their way towards the top. Would work well as both a main activity or an extension where students can choose their own starting point. Included: PDF and doc of worksheet to allow for any editing needed.

#### Using Planetary Info to teach Standard Index Form

This is nothing more than a table showing information about the Planets. You can use the info to: Take numbers out of Standard Form Put numbers into Standard Form Compare sizes in Standard Form Add / Subtract / Divide In Standard Form No questions are given just the data for use in your classroom.

Ladder style worksheet for algebraic proof. Differentiated by outcome - students to start at bottom of ladder and work their way up. Could be used as main activity or as extension worksheet. Included: worksheet in both PDF and doc format to allow editing.

#### LEGO Probability Lesson - AND/OR

Probability lesson based on LEGO Superheroes. Students were extremely engaged by the activity, and the lesson was really enjoyable. Included: Lesson Plan, PPT, Worksheets and LEGO characters to print. I printed and laminated the lego figures, but time could be saved by getting students to label or using another organisational method. Enjoy!

#### Probability - Random Q Generator

Random Question Generator as a starter/plenary on the topic of simple probability. Questions involving rolling dice, picking from a pack of cards, choosing letters from the alphabet and balls from a bag. Suitable for up to 32 students (questions can be deleted where necessary). Questions are of varying levels of difficulty and can therefore be assigned to different students to differentiate by ability. When started, the slides will loop continuously until the back arrow is pressed, which will stop on a random student’s name and question. This activity works really well as a lesson starter as it keeps all students on their toes, waiting for their name to appear!

#### Represent Multiplication as Repeated Addition

A complete lesson for lower KS2 to introduce the concept of multiplication and represent it as repeated addition using examples based on everyday objects. The resources comprise both a step-by-step powerpoint and 2-way differentiated worksheets (in the ‘make your own’ worksheet format). The latter are word documents are therefore editable should the format/style/sizes not suit you. In terms of strategy, the worked examples are calculated using ‘grouping’, which pupils can then apply themselves either with concrete manipulatives or jottings on a whiteboard. The worksheets allow for the calculations to be represented in the ‘bar method’ format as well if you require this.

#### Tell the Time from an Analogue Clock (Nearest minute)

A complete lesson for lower KS2 on telling the time to the nearest minute. The resources comprise a step-by-step powerpoint presentation, a laminatable sheet of blank clocks for pupils to use to represent the times given in the guided activities and three differentiated worksheets for the main activity. There is also a discussion-based plenary. Please note: pupils should already be able to read time to the nearest 5 minutes (lesson available at this link: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/tell-the-time-from-an-analogue-clock-nearest-5-mins-11909819?theme=0) before you teach this lesson and should know how many minutes are in one hour. It’s also recommended that you have teaching clocks with moveable hands for both the pupils and a larger one for you and/or your TA.

#### Harry Potter Potions Proportions

**Fonts will adjust once downloaded and do all fit on slides/worksheets ** Harry Potter themed lesson, based around potions and proportional reasoning. Starter: Sorting Hat function machine, testing student multiplication skills and allowing them to begin thinking Mathematically. Main 1: Group activity, based around potion recipes, where students are required to use problem solving skills and proportional reasoning to solve the final 4 questions. Main 2: Differentiated worksheet - scaffolded worksheet includes some slightly less complicated questions, as well as further structure. Non-scaffolded worksheet with more difficult proportion questions. Extension: Extension problem solving cards for HA students who finish quickly. Plenary: Discussion based plenary on potion recipe change. This lesson was used with a high ability Y8 class, but can be adapted for other year groups. #### How Many Animals? - Count and Graph!

**Early Stage 1 - Mathematics - Data ** **Outcomes Addressed: ** MAe-17SP: represents data and interprets data displays made from objects. MAe-1WM: describes mathematical situations using everyday language, actions, materials and informal recordings. MAe-3WM: uses concrete materials and/or pictorial representations to support conclusions. I created this worksheet and used it during my Kindergarten placement. Students were able to work through it independently and was their first attempt of collecting and representing data on their own. **Tips: ** Students might like to cover the animals with counters to assist them in counting. Allocate a colour for each animal; students use that colour to circle/group the ‘like-objects’ (animals) so that they can count them clearly.
