GCSE 9-1 Exam Question Practice (Advanced Formulae)

GCSE 9-1 Exam Question Practice (Advanced Formulae)

The majority of these questions are on rearranging formulae. The questions start with formulae that can be rearranged in two steps and then progress until the tricky ones at the end which take up to five steps. There are fully-worked solutions for students to follow, which means that less time is needed for feedback in class. [CLICK HERE] to see a list of the other available topic booklets. They are great for independent study, for a homework, or for working together in class.

Power Indices Rules Lessons

Power Indices Rules Lessons

These are two lessons on power indices. Lesson 1: Proving and giving examples of multiplication and division of powers of the same base, a to the 0, and negative power indices. Lesson 2: Power of power, and proof of (a/b)^n = a^n/b^n with examples, and proof / justification of the equivalence of a^{1/n} and the nth root of a. All comes with detailed examples. Lesson 2 also teachers students to evaluate expressions such as 8^{2/3}, (27/8)^{-2/3}. The bundle contains both the lesson presentations with 'overlay animations', where steps are reviewed one at a time. There is also an accompanying presenter view pdf for teachers for each lesson ppt. The documents are prepared meticulously with LaTeX, I hope you find these useful. In addition, you can get unlimited number of high quality practice questions and solutions for both lessons on my website: www.onemathsquestions.com. They are under topics "Power Indices". You can generate the worksheets yourself, and each question will come with a set of very detailed step by step solutions, set out in exactly the same way as the lesson presentation examples. Hope you find these useful, and if you have any comments or suggestions, please feel free to contact me through TES or my website. Best wishes, Joe

IAL C34 Specimen Paper - without space

IAL C34 Specimen Paper - without space

This is the IAL C34 Specimen Question Paper (free sample). Only questions appear in the document without any written space. I have written the paper using LaTeX ( a high quality typesetting document preparation system) and compiled to get the PDF output. Teachers and tutors can now easily save paper and print the question paper for exam practice and revision purposes of their students. The omission of writing space is a huge advantage in saving ink and paper, because original papers comes with a lot of empty space for the answer. The LaTeX written paper have all the math beautifully formatted and typeset even to the minor details. The question paper comes with a cover page for reference. Teachers can opt out this page if necessary when giving for print. Mark scheme is attached. NB: Here is a link to my store @TpT: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Smart-A-Level-Math

Differentiated quadratic graphs with answers

Differentiated quadratic graphs with answers

This resource is a word document which contains colour-coded, differentiated questions on quadratic graph functions. The questions increase in difficulty. There is also an extension activity which requires students to determine whether a coordinate is part of a quadratic graph. The answers to the quadratic graph functions are presented in an xy table of coordinates. The answers to the extension questions are also provided. All answers to all questions can be found on the word file. This resource can be used for HA in KS3-KS4. It could also act as a starter activity for KS5. I hope you enjoy using this resource.
