Music Center: Don't Break the Rhythms! - Rhythm Game

Music Center: Don't Break the Rhythms! - Rhythm Game

This is a super fun (yet truly educational!) game based on the popular game, “Don’t Break the Ice!” In this game, students must identify note names and hope they don’t cause all the ice to fall! Note: This purchase does not include the actual game “Don’t Break the Ice” and requires that this game is purchased separately. This game is included in the Don’t Break the Music BUNDLE! Your students will LOVE playing this game in Rhythm Centers or as a stand-alone activity! This also makes a great music sub tub plan! You will verbally hear them calling out the names of the notes as they break the ice. It also works great for sub plans! In this resource: • Cards to print out (8 cards to one sheet of paper). • Directions for Teacher. • Directions for Students - print out and put in the packet for students! • Cards to print, laminate, and attach to ice pieces. To explain what you have done using musical language. Included is: a power point which covers all six lessons and a worksheet which accompanies the power point. The power point and worksheet are quite self explanatory but I have put some brief notes below: Discuss with the class the definitions of T and V and then listen to Mozart. Give a little background is needs be at this point on life in classical times. Explain he had no studio etc!! Read through listening activity and discuss new keywords. (we note these in a glossary) Complete Listening Activity. Recap note reading and get pupils to learn Twinkle twinkle on the keyboards. Perform to the class. Discuss easy ways to change a theme - use tick boxes on worksheet so pupils work through list - perform. Move onto harder ways to change theme and us tick boxes again. Year 7 Music - End of Year Exam

Year 7 Music - End of Year Exam

This Year 7 Music exam has been created to cover a range of music knowledge most students would have covered. The first half of the paper includes a listening section which the teacher leads from the piano, asking students to identify pitch/dynamic/tonality/rhythm changes, major/minor chords, and comment on how a piece of music represents a certain atmosphere. The second section is knowledge based, and covers musical elements, instruments, families of the orchestra, reading the treble clef, note durations and chord identification. The paper comes with a full mark scheme.

GCSE Music 9-1 Editable MusicTABOO Cards

GCSE Music 9-1 Editable MusicTABOO Cards

Create an example Taboo-style game for GCSE students based on one of the SetWorks and then give them the template to create their own. Colour coded using the same analysis colour scheme used in all the resources I have developed. Add a bonus reward for the students who can give examples related to the word on their card. Adapt for KS3 or even KS5. Offered here as an editable Word Document. Print double-sided on thin card flipped on the long edge. NB. It looks a little strange in the preview/info but I know the file is fine in Word 2016 and so I’d be interested to hear from anyone who tries downloading whether it works successfully. I hope you like it!
