The Big Quiz 2018

The Big Quiz 2018

I always do a quiz for the end of the year based upon songs from the last year, modern celebrities and fun general knowledge Usually takes about an hour but I have done it in over 4 rounds in form time… questions are not super hard so most teams and students will achieve well… but in every round are a couple of harder questions to test the students. Enjoy. Last years Big Quiz 2017 was downloaded 100 times and top rated.

Fake News Assembly

Fake News Assembly

An assembly focusing on the dangers of fake news, how we recognise fake news and the importance of being aware of it. The assembly explores the fact that it was Hitler who invented the idea of fake news and then examines how he used it to gain power and control the public, before comparing it to the way politicians use fake news today. There are then slides which explore how to recognise fake news and what to do if you’re unsure. The slides shown are just a sample of those included. The whole assembly follows an easy narrative that can be used with no additional prep (although it is also editable should you want to). Best suited for secondary students. The Race to Bethlehem! A Christmas Musical for EYFS/KS1

The Race to Bethlehem! A Christmas Musical for EYFS/KS1

The Race to Bethlehem is a heart-warming version of the Christmas story for younger children (ages 4 to 8) to perform. In the story we meet Farmer Dan’s pigeons and Fluff, a little pigeon who prefers walking to flying. Every year, the village farmers hold a race to Bethlehem for the pigeons and Fluff is determined to get there. On the way he meets Joseph and Mary, who are on their way to Bethlehem too… The Race to Bethlehem story is written simply for young children to learn easily. The 7 original songs are catchy and fun to sing, easy to learn and remember. In addition there are two well-known songs – Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (with an additional verse) and Away in a Manger. The script includes stage directions to help with your performance. I hope the children, their teachers and parents enjoy the story of Fluff’s journey to Bethlehem and his encounter with the Nativity story!

The Brick: Going Too Fast to Care - An assembly for Primary schools

The Brick: Going Too Fast to Care - An assembly for Primary schools

This Assembly from Mirror Assemblies is one of their series for Changes (SEAL Theme) and looks how one incident can make someone who is very busy, change their view. It considers whether the action used for drawing attention in this story is effective or if there might have been other options. The children are encouraged to think about times when they have been too busy to see how others might need their help or care. IMPORTANT The license for using this assembly in your own class is £3, but if you wish to use this resource for a whole school assembly you will need to purchase the school license. If you like this assembly and are looking for others for throughout the school year, you will find it more economical to purchase themes from Mirrorassemblies.co.uk where your school can subscribe to any number of themes for periods from one term to 5 years. This will allow you access to all new assembly materials added to that theme or those themes instantly. Mirror Assemblies also provide ready-made assemblies including scripts presentations and linked music in the form of a presentation which encourages thought and reflection as a warm-up for the main part of the assembly.
