These can be short term or long term goals. The goals can be academic or personal. It could be as easy as not being tardy to class or as ambitious as going from a failing grade to achieving a 4.0. Set the parameters with your students. This allows the activity to be tailored to either a group or individual student. This can also be a class poster. It is available in both color and black/white. There are several versions of the clipart to accommodate different levels of students. **5 Year Plan **– Use this sheet for students to set goals for themselves and how they plan to achieve them. Education, Health, Travel, **Positive Thinking **– Use this sheet to reinforce the power of positive thinking and reflections. Students will think about what they have done yesterday, what they are doing today, and what they will do tomorrow to achieve a goal. Finance Terms

Finance Terms

This task was created at the request of my Yr13 sixthformers, “we don’t know any of this stuff, we don’t know how to adult!” So, this activity consists of four pages with lots of finance words and terms together with information and definitions of what these are. The task is to match up the terms with their definitions. Words are grouped into four pages by: The Basics Using Money Saving Money Borrowing Money We have deliberately included some simple and straightforward information as well as some of the more complicated technicalities. The task of matching up is designed to be fairly easy but the real goal here is to easily learn lots about these financial words, products, services etc. Answers are included, just scroll down (or turn the page) to find them. The matching patterns have been designed to be easy to check pupils work but it’ll probably be easier still to print these off beforehand so that you can refer to them if necessary during the lesson. As mentioned above, we’ve included simple information as well as more complicated but you’re not expected to know all of this yourself. You may even take something from this activity too! This download includes a pdf file as well as the original powerpoint file for easy editing.

The overall theme for the series of KS4 Drop Down Days was ‘Independent Living’, so this is just one in a series of six which ran throughout the year. This particular day was run just before the Year 10s went off for work experience, as we decided that this would be a great way to prepare them and convey the importance of focusing on their possible future employment opportunities. As 25% of Britains now class themselves as self-employed, two out of the six sessions also have a large focus on entrepreneurship and enterprise skills. Drop Down Day Pack - A set of 6 lessons to cover a Drop Down Day (6 hours) all about financial literacy and ethical spending. The Drop Down Day was put together for Year 10 originally, but all the resources are editable and well-differentiated so it could be used with any year group KS4 / KS3 with a tweak or so. The overall theme for the series of KS4 Drop Down Days was ‘Independent Living’, so this is just one in a series of six which ran throughout the year. The day works especially well if you can have a key speaker from the Finance Industry (the school’s finance director will do) to kick off proceedings; just someone to emphasise how important financial literacy is and how it can lead to lucrative careers. Intertwined with the money and independent living skills gained by students throughout the day are reminders of their responsibilities as consumers to spend ethically. There is much focus on young people’s rights and responsibilities throughout the lessons as this was planned to ensure thorough coverage of Citizenship and SMSC too.
