Many of us will be celebrating Mother’s Day by giving cards and gifts. The total spend across the UK is around £1.4 billion; big business. But what is the story behind this special day and why is it that so many of our mums mysteriously have so much in common? This age-appropriate, light-hearted presentation looks at the history of Mothering Sunday and identifies popular ‘mum phrases’. It will have your pupils giggling as they recognise that, ‘my mum says that!’ This pack will save you hours of prep time. Passover - 3 lesson plans and resources - KS2

This is a set of three lesson plans and resources to teach children about the Jewish holiday of Passover. It is suitable for ages 7 - 11. There is also a PowerPoint presentation to accompany the lessons which includes a topic introduction, the Passover story and details of how Jewish people celebrate Passover today. Lesson 1 teaches children about the story of Passover and includes a drama activity and a literacy task. Lesson 2 covers the theme of freedom in the Passover story and includes a drama activity and a poem writing task. Lesson 3 teaches children about Passover celebrations today and includes an art and a literacy activity. Each lesson starts with an introductory session and finishes with a plenary session. The plan includes three differentiated levels of objectives. In 2018 Passover starts on 30 March but these lessons could be taught at any time of the year. All necessary resources are included. No further preparation required.

They will explore the Buddhist community and learn about how Buddhists live. Symbolism is an important aspect of Buddhism; therefore children will learn the major symbols of this tradition, while exploring the importance of symbolism in other faiths.
