Nativity play - with a difference! - Full script plus posters and program

Nativity play - with a difference! - Full script plus posters and program

‘Not another Nativity!’ was written for secondary school students as a counter to the endless primary nativity plays! It was also written as a small memorial to George Micheal with two of his songs ‘Faith’ and ‘Last Christmas’ featuring. It is a light-hearted comedy, a play within a play focusing on a class of Year 11 students who want to do things their way… could be easily adapted for year 6 students who want to do a special nativity for their last year in primary The play is about 12 - 15 minutes long in total, with 11 speaking parts (though these parts can doubled up or divided in further characters as necessary). Very few props are needed and no special staging or lighting. I have also included a promotional poster for students, a promo poster for parents and a program - all you need to do is complete with school logo and student names. I do hope you enjoy it as much as my students did - any questions please do message me!

Full 30 minute playscript of 'Pippa the Pirate Fights Plastic'

Full 30 minute playscript of 'Pippa the Pirate Fights Plastic'

This is a 30 minute play based on a pirate who becomes famous for fighting plastic pollution. I wrote and produced this play with lower and upper key stage 2 children, who managed the lines and stage directions well. I have adapted the play with current themes and there’s a host of characters who explain how plastic effects their lives in terms which can be understood from foundation stage. There are other themes including friendship and ‘being kind’ as well as a catchy recycle song. I give permission for character genders to be changed to suit your cast.

Sample Pages For Romeo and Juliet Play Script

Sample Pages For Romeo and Juliet Play Script

A short extract from the play script Love Me Tender, which is a simple one act adaptation of the first half of Shakespeare’s famous tragedy. The play covers events which lead up to Tybalt’s death, allowing for a cliff-hanger ending and giving students the opportunity to improvise, or write, the remainder of the play. It’s great for scriptwriting sessions at KS2 or KS3 and works really well as a performance. These sample pages give you a taster of what the play is like and allow you to try before you buy! If you like this sample, the full script - with production notes, photocopiable script pages, and fab classroom follow-on activities - can be found in the Arts On The Move Shop here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/romeo-and-juliet-play-script-for-ks2-ks3-11373888 Thanks everso!

Simple Scripted Duologue

Simple Scripted Duologue

A great little original script for two people which can be used for improvisation, role play, characterisation work, script annotating or writing, or for exploring PSHE issues. Younger pupils can simply write the rest of the scene, the preceding scene, or the following scene. Older pupils can add cut-away scenes and develop the extract into a whole play. I’ve used it with KS2 and KS3 students and they’ve all created something different from it! If you found this resource useful, please take a minute to leave a positive review. Thanks everso!

Improvisation task based on Beatles' song lyrics

Improvisation task based on Beatles' song lyrics

Suitable for KS2 and KS3 this drama resource is good for small groups getting to grips with the lyrics of classic Beatles’ song lyrics. Many of them tell stories which can be acted out and elaborated upon. Eg Maxwell’s Silver Hammer, Obla di obla da, Penny Lane, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, A Day in the Life, Eleanor Rigby, Being for the benefit of Mr Kite, Yellow Submarine, Octopus’ Garden, etc. I used this idea with a group of adults with learning disabilities and there was so much scope for characterisation and improvisation. This could be done over several sessions. Ours culminated in a Beatles’ Day with performances before an invited audience. The resource itself is a worksheet that can be given to each group to fill in once they have chosen which song lyric is going to be their starting point for an improvisation.
