AQA English Literature Paper 2 Bundle: Modern Texts and Poetry (version 2)

AQA English Literature Paper 2 Bundle: Modern Texts and Poetry (version 2)

Three complete units of work that go through the teaching of An Inspector Calls, all 15 of the Conflict and Power poems AND a selection of Unseen Poems. I've included a version of the poetry anthology I've created that lends itself to annotating and revising better than the AQA version too - bit of a beast that. Also, you will find attached a spreadsheet that allows you to track the scores for all of these components.

I also included a writing journal section which can be completed in class or at home. For the writing journal, students are asked to select and answer two of the proposed questions. You will also find an oral presentation project to get the students to acquire additional knowledge about the U.S. Civil Rights Movement. This way the movie becomes an excellent pre-activity to a broader learning opportunity for students. Note: My personal way of using the oral presentation project is that I get students in pairs to work on the project and present to the rest of the class. I ask students to take notes because afterwards I give them a quiz on everything which was presented… not necessarily for a final “official” grade but a final “unofficial” assessment of who has acquired the most knowledge… students love the challenge of trying to beat their classmates and no stress about it showing up on their report card… I usually give a few bonus points to my first three pairs who got the most correct answers on the final quiz.
