KS4- accidents and injuries - gap fills/writing tasks (long and short writing practice)

I have created activities for my students to do for homework mostly It can be done in class or for a cover lesson. Each sub topic includes : Two gap fills (one from an easy piece of writing and one from a more challenging one). Vocabulary research : I highlighted key words I would like my students to research and use in their own pieces of writing. 4-5 sentences to translate (mostly EN - FR) . (I used grammar concepts and vocabulary from the MATS I am also selling - feel free to check my shop!) One writing activity where I either ask the students to write a few sentences including given words (short writing practice) or write a paragraph following bullet points (longer writing practice). (Do not worry if the photo you can see is not based on the topic you’re looking for, I used the same one for all my resources)

Chez le medecin

Chez le medecin

Powerpoint teaching students to understand and build up a conversation at the doctor. Starter: X/O on pains and ailments. Main: Using a conversation as an example, focus on the different parts adding vocab/grammar (pouvoir, depuis, passé compose, il faut). Parts of the conversation then disappear to give place to generic instructions for students to adapt for their own role play (I use finger/hand puppets). I don't make students write anything, just give them a copy of the important slides on one handout so they spend less time copying and more time using/manipulating the language

French: The present participle - Part II

French: The present participle - Part II

This presentation illustrates the second function of how the present participle is used in terms of how something is done in the context of accidents, injuries and misfortune. Once again, it also illustrates how it is formed with non-reflexive verbs, reflexive verbs and negatives. This would be very ideal for students who are studying IGCSE French, A-Level French and adults who are simply studying french for the first time or revision. The concept of the present participle appears in Unit 9 of the Cambridge IGCSE course and this activity also introduces names of injuries or ailments and the concept of non-agreement with reflexive verbs in the past form with direct objects. Happy teaching and learning!
