This excellent value package of 9 resources includes a selection of learning mats/storyboard activities from a variety of units within the AQA GCSE 9-1 specification. These resources are an excellent revision tool and can be given to students as tasks when delivering lessons, or within revision sessions as a way to improve students understanding of topics and ability to apply this understanding to answering long answer questions. These are vital teaching resources, this structuring activity has been created to help students to plan their response to 6 & 9 mark questions in line with the new AQA GCSE 9-1 course. This method uses the ‘process’ of Knowledge (AO1), Apply (AO2) and Say Why (AO3) to answer questions fully, in line with the mark scheme, giving students the best chance of achieving a high grade in their long answer written responses. This can be completed as a classwork or homework task.

World Cup 2018 Activity bundle.

Includes a lesson that locates the 32 competing nations to their continent, then encourages atlas work to locate where these countries are on a pre prepared world map worksheet. Then students complete a map locating the venues for the 2018 World Cup, and match these to images of the stadia. A third activity focuses on the size of Russia, and asks students to map out the distance for each competing nation as they travel through the group stage of the competition. Additional resources include hyperlinks to video, and word search and cross word puzzles relating to Russia and the 2018 World Cup. 32 top trump cards, one for each competing nation, including a mixture of football and geographical statistical data. Play in pairs or larger groups for the original game, or use the powerpoint to play the tournament from start to finish, all required sheets and instructions needed to play the tournament are included.

World Cup 2018

Series of activities to introduce the World Cup in Russia 2018. Starting with identifying the continents of origin of the 32 competing nations which leads into a mapping exercise showing where in the world these countries are found. Second activity is again atlas work and a poster presentation, as students locate the venues of the matches on a map of Russia, then match up the images of the grounds to the city. Third activity looks at the size of Russia and maps the distance between venues, students are asked to calculate which team has the greatest distance to travel during the group stage of the competition. Extra activities include word search and a cross word which looks at the geographical features of Russia as well as details about the World Cup. Hyperlinks to video clips are also included.
