Converting measures colour in - what's the word? (Challenging!)

Converting measures colour in - what's the word? (Challenging!)

Students colour in the true boxes - this gives a letter per box, which is an anagram of an 8 letter word (triangle!) which the students have to find. Worked really well on what can be a bit of a dull topic. There are some very challenging questions on both metric and imperial conversions, and also a bit of mathematical general knowledge thrown in too!

Units of Measurement Guided Notes

Units of Measurement Guided Notes

Check out this clear and well-organized guided notes template that covers the tool and approximate length of the customary units of measurement. Presented in a table format on the top and six simple conversion questions on the bottom, this is a great way to build students' understanding of measuring, and the units we use. This is a great transition from lower elementary non standard units to thinking through how we actually use tools and the units we use! An answer key has been included for your convenience.
