Statistics: Normal Distribution Bundle (4 Lessons) - Perfect for S1 and S2

Statistics: Normal Distribution Bundle (4 Lessons) - Perfect for S1 and S2

This is four excellent lessons. All the lessons are approximately 25 slides and should be enough for a long double A-Level lesson (1hr 40 - 2hours) Lesson 1 - Standard Normal / Introduction Lesson 2 - Non Standard / Standardizing Lesson 3 - Backwards and Problems Lesson 4 - Approximation for Binomial Distribution NOTE: Feel free to browse my shop for more excellent free and premium resources and as always please rate and feedback, thank you.

Statistics: (S1) Normal Distribution 3 - Backwards and Further Problems (+ worksheets)

Statistics: (S1) Normal Distribution 3 - Backwards and Further Problems (+ worksheets)

This is the third of four lessons on the normal distribution, which builds on the first two lessons. This is your A/A* material, looking at different types of questions and problems. This is an excellent resource, with lots and lots of excellent teaching slides, 21 slides. Specifically this lesson is for teaching about how to work backwards and different questions. It does touch on linear combinations, so I recommend teaching that first (also available from my shop) and looks in detail at little issues/ mistakes that people can make. This is a vital lesson for your top end students and gives less able students more time to practise the normal distribution. I have therefore included two worksheets (exam questions) aimed at different abilities students and then come with accompanying mark schemes. I have used the PowerPoint slides to structure the lesson and have found this is one of best teaching topics and I have been very successful in getting ALL pupils to understand the normal distribution and feel confident for ALL types of questions that they may have to face. NOTE: Feel free to browse my shop for more excellent free and premium resources and as always please rate and feedback on any purchases, thank you.

Statistics: (S1) Normal Distribution 2 - Non / Not Standard (+ Worksheet)

Statistics: (S1) Normal Distribution 2 - Non / Not Standard (+ Worksheet)

This is the second of four lessons on the normal distribution, which builds on the first lesson that introduced the topic by looking at what to do when data is not in the standard normal form. This is an excellent resource, with lots and lots of excellent teaching slides, 21 slides. Specifically this lesson is for teaching what is the normal distribution is, the criteria for using it and how and HOW TO STANDARDISE, and again how to use look up tables to solve problems that are in a standard normal form having standardised. I have also included questions I often used with accompanying mark scheme. I have used the PowerPoint slides to structure the lesson and have found this is one of best teaching topics and I have been very successful in getting ALL pupils to understand the normal distribution and feel confident for ALL types of questions that they may have to face. Introduction to Normal Distribution and z-score

Introduction to Normal Distribution and z-score

This is a PowerPoint presentation that can be used to introduce normal distributions. The lesson covers what a normal distribution is and then talks through how to convert to a standardised normal distribution (find the z-score). The idea is to encourage the students to understand exactly what they are finding, rather than just using a formula and reading from a table. This means that they will be able to interpret questions and adapt to new situations more easily. The presentation discusses what we mean by standard deviation and how it applies to a normal distribution. We then look at how we can find the z-score and how this helps us find the probability. We then look at a couple of examples, where we use a table to find the probability from the z-score and vice-versa. I use a 'tail end' table of z-scores but the lesson can easily be adapted to other forms of tables. I spent quite a lot of time putting the presentation together to use with my Engineering apprentices so hopefully someones else can also find it useful. I must also give credit to www.mathsisfun.com (https://www.mathsisfun.com/data/standard-normal-distribution.html) where I found a lot of the images used in the presentation.

Decoding Bundle 200 Worksheets Verbal Reasoning

Decoding Bundle 200 Worksheets Verbal Reasoning

A bundle of worksheets. 200 worksheets on decoding, Plus some great ones on Pythagoras. I have designed 200 worksheets on decoding numbers for the 11+ non verbal reasoning questions. There are 200 worksheets provided on a cd. Decoding is an important aspect of the 11+ exams. Ideal for parents, pupils and tutors. Answer sheets provided. The Decoding worksheet helps to reinforce spelling and problem solving skills for students. The letters of each word are replaced with other letters or numbers based on a pattern.

Mathematics Statistics 1 Lessons

Mathematics Statistics 1 Lessons

Mathematics Statistics 1 Lessons This is a set of lessons for S1 Statistics 1 A level Mathematics. The resources includes Powerpoints. Powerpoint include: Learning objectives Questions on the topic Important information written in red boxes to scaffold learning. Topics: Introduction Averages Measures of Spread Correlation Regression Probability Binomial Normal Theory Confidence Interval Revision Poisson I hope you enjoy these lessons, they can be used in the following ways: To deliver a course with reduced planning but not reducing quality of the lesson. As a basis for an observation lesson to save time preparing resources. To give to students for out of lesson learning. To support teachers who are new to this topic, again to reduce planning time. As a bases for your own lessons where you can include exam questions to each presentation. As an activity where the questions can be printed and cut out.
