Spanish - Part time jobs - Worksheet - Trabajo a tiempo parcial

A worksheet to practice reasons for and against having a part-time job as well as mentioning plans for the future. Worksheet includes a Spanish to English translation, a reading task and a writing task. This sheet was originally used with a National 5 Spanish class but could be used for similar level pupils following a different curriculum.

This lesson revises the conjugation of the subjunctive (from Lesson 1) and then allows students to complete a Reading activity with opportunities to exploit and improve the text. I have used a particular Grade Criteria descriptor grid but this can be easily replaced with alternative Grade Criteria descriptors. Students will then practise a GCSE style photo card with a view to creating answers as spontaneously as possible with only 5-10 minutes preparation before practising the questions and answers in pairs. Finally, students will create a GCSE paragraph in response to a GCSE Speaking question based on differentiated prompts.

This lesson introduces the key phrases from Unit 7 and requires students to match up phrases, complete a Listening activity and explore using the subjunctive with 'cuando'. Students will practise the conjugation of the subjunctive and then create sentences which will be improved through group peer-assessment.

This lesson deals with details relating to travelling in Spain (train stations, airports, etc. ) and exploits the unit specific vocabulary and phrases through Listening skills and students will also complete a reading based activity. Students will conduct spontaneous dialogues and write a GCSE ready against Grade descriptors and be stretched/challenged to incorporate AQA GCSE specific topic vocabulary. The Grade Descriptors I have included are specific to my lessons and can easily be replaced with other examples of Grade Descriptors.

This lesson introduces/revises the Conditional tense and allows students to practise the unit topic phrases and vocabulary along with the Conditional tense through Listening and Speaking skills. Students will then prepare a GCSE style Photo Card activity in order to practise an important GCSE exam skill.

This lesson requires students to locate responses to interview questions and then complete translations to practise GCSE translation skills. Students will then complete a GCSE Speaking question and improve their answers through peer/self-assessment. Activities are differentiated with additional stretch and challenge and encouraging students to incorporate AQA GCSE specific vocabulary in their work.

This lesson allows students to use the topic phrases and vocabulary to complete differentiated gap-fill activities based on a Reading text. Students then complete a Listening activity followed by the exploitation of the transcript to locate some useful phrases. Based on all of this work, students will then complete their own covering letter for a job application.

Spanish GCSE differentiated knowledge organisers/model texts on School - Writing & Speaking

This resource was created for my Y10/11 students as a way to help them prepare for the Writing and Speaking components of the new AQA GCSE Spanish examinations. Contains 2 Word documents: 1. Foundation level 2. Higher level with a colour coded system to highlight the more complex structures and extra tenses Both texts include opinion phrases, different tenses and are translated in English to help comprehension. I have added the AQA recommended vocabulary from the "Current and future study" section. It is fully editable and once downloaded just remove the boxes to see the texts.

I must point out here that the Grade Criteria/Descriptors I have used is specific to my school but this can easily be replaced (copy/paste) by the specific Grade Criteria/Descriptors you happen to use. Students can then attempt two differentiated translations (GCSE skills) which incorporate AQA GCSE specific vocabulary. Students will then create a Grade 9 Ready answer to a GCSE style Speaking question and can then improve their work using the self/peer assessment WWW/EBI sheet.

Students can then attempt a spontaneous Photo Card Speaking activity which I have created for the work covered in this Unit whereby they can prepare for 10 minutes (ish) and then practise the questions and answers in pairs. I think it is important to practise the Speaking Exam skills at every opportunity!
