Series of lessons (4-6 hours) on perfect tense / holidays / vacances - ppts, puzzles, worksheets KS3

Series of lessons (4-6 hours) on perfect tense / holidays / vacances - ppts, puzzles, worksheets KS3

This is a series of lessons (4-6 hours) about ‘Vacances’ and the perfect tense - I’ve used with Year 8 but could do Year 9 too and elements could be used for KS4 too as a starting point / for revision. The resources are: Short Q / A conversation to be used for speaking practice - each slide has more gaps and fewer words. A longer version of the previous conversation, this time with model answers - MWB activity / gap-fill of verbs / instructions for a ‘Consequences’ type game. A copy of the questions from resource 2 in Word format for students. A vocabulary memory game, followed by a paragraph in the past tense describing a holiday in the past tense - revising and adding to the vocab / structures above. This also becomes gapped so the students have to remember / work out key details of the paragraph. Past tense sentences like the ones above in wingdings so students have to crack the code. Answers included. NB - underneath the title is the same phrase in wingdings as the clue - not all letters are used so they have to work out verbs etc using prior knowledge. Also, note - 2 crosses (one is slightly 3D) and 2 flags (one has a pointy end.) And any sybols are not coded, otherwise it gets very confused. Words in pictures - students look up a series of pictures, find the first letter in French and spell a word. (Eg Pomme / Lunettes / Arc en ciel / Glace / Espagne - spells Plage.) All answers connected with holidays, although pictures not. I have used all these on many occasions with Year 8 clases of all abilities and have found them to be motivating and effective for helping students to learn and manipulate the perfect tense and Holiday’related vocabulary. The Powerpoints all have instructions for use on the slides.

Mon Ordi et mon portable Studio 1 Module 3

Mon Ordi et mon portable Studio 1 Module 3

These cue cards are a speaking resource to support the study of Studio 1 Module 3 unit 1, Mon Ordi et Mon Portable. They combine technology activities with frequencies. To play clones, make 2 or 3 sets and distribute - students interact asking and answering questions until they find their clone. Page 1 is one set of 9, page 2 is a second set of 9, each one differing in one or two details so students need to interact as much as possible to find their clone- I have found it works best if they ask questions in random order. For a smaller class or group, just one set of page 1 cards can be used as a simple speaking activity asking and answering questions. great for developing confidence and speaking skills. Please dont forget to leave a comment below, thank you :)

French: Soccer / Football Activity Pack - World Cup, la coupe du monde

French: Soccer / Football Activity Pack - World Cup, la coupe du monde

Get through the World Cup weeks by making your students talk about 24 football-related pictures and various suggested activities. This Soccer/Football activity pack contains a PowerPoint presentation, cue cards, 32 different Bingo mats and a vocabulary list, as well as a multi-player board game to encourage speaking and learning through play. In an attempt to accommodate my colleagues in various parts of the world I am including files in different formats, i.e. letter/A4 and tabloid/A3 and using UK/US terminology. Should I have unintentionally missed any words, please do not mark me down in a review. Rather feel free to contact me and I shall work with you to remedy this asap. Formats and terminology used are always made clear in a filename, e.g. ‘le soccer’ refers to CA, ‘le foot’ refers to French as spoken in France. If no format is mentioned, then the file is in the A4 format. If no language clue is included then the file applies to the French taught in the country of the website :) Please kindly respect the time it took me to construct the enclosed sheets. Fairness deal: I will keep my price low. In return please be fair to me and do not pass this resource to colleagues unless you or your school have purchased the multiple licence for this resource too. Thank you. :) If you like these, please leave me a review and follow me to see what else is new in my shop at any time. ©MosaiK

Good revision writing or speaking activity - a selection of questions timed on Power point

Good revision writing or speaking activity - a selection of questions timed on Power point

I have taken a selection of common speaking / writing questions on a variety of topics and put them, one by one, on a Power point. The added twist is that the slides are timed, so the students have to say as much as they can before the slide changes. It starts off slow and gets faster so students have to say more. Each slide has A or B at the top - for person A or B in each pair. It’s designed for students to say the answers aloud to each other, but they may equally write answers using mini white boards. Good for revision at KS4. Please give feedback. I hope you find this useful; my classes have always found it quite motivating.
