Constructing Bisectors and Triangles

Constructing Bisectors and Triangles

Complete lesson on constructing perpendicular and angle bisectors and SAS, SSS, and ASA triangles. Animations and exercises embedded allowing pupils to easily follow along with the lesson. Locus / loci and construction worksheets

Locus / loci and construction worksheets

I think this is difficult topic to teach well from a textbook. I find these resources make it a lot easier to teach the topics and help my classes make greater progress in the lesson. A practice worksheet for loci (8 pages, with solutions), then a practice worksheet on constructions (8 pages). Then a mixed worksheet (8 pages, with solutions). Note - make sure these worksheets are printed at full size (A4) or the scale/measurements will not work!

Loci around a fixed point.

Loci around a fixed point.

Just a fun resource to show at the start of a lesson on loci. This is our dog, which the students love to see and he is the inspiration for all the doggie resources.

Quilt block patterns

Quilt block patterns

A set of 3 single sided activity sheets with solutions. Students need to carefully use a pencil and ruler to construct straight lines on the grid provided. Colour is then used to show the different two-dimensional shapes that have been formed. Students are asked to identify the shapes. Australian Curriculum (NSW) MA3-15MG manipulates, classifies and draws two-dimensional shapes, including equilateral, isosceles and scalene triangles, and describes their properties.
