End of Year 6 Quiz

End of Year 6 Quiz

A quick and easy to follow quiz, covering all aspects of the primary curriculum from English, right through to PE and Music. Although there are over 130 slides, this quiz is designed to be played fast with only one question per 13 subjects available to choose. Children choose a difficulty level and achieve either 1, 3 or 5 points. Each subject can only be chosen once and then the option for that subject disappears. With 13 subjects to choose from - all split into easy, medium and hard, this quiz offers a possible 39 questions. From experience, the quiz is best enjoyed as a quick plenary or time filler, to the whole class. Takes around 15 mins to complete. We encourage teams/children to keep their own scores and to see how well they did at the end of the presentation. Protecting Wilderness: Lesson Plan & Film

Protecting Wilderness: Lesson Plan & Film

In this lesson, students watch a 14-minute film, "Among Giants," by Rainhouse Cinema, about an environmental activist who risks injury and incarceration to protect an ancient redwood grove in California. In this lesson, students discuss the film and participate in classroom dialogues, exploring themes such as courage, empathy toward nature, and environmental justice. They will analyze the effectiveness of digital media and the choices made by the activist. Reflective writing prompts are also offered for students to demonstrate their understanding of the story. English and Spanish versions of the lesson plan are available for download.
