GREETINGS AND PERSONAL INFORMATION IN FRENCH

GREETINGS AND PERSONAL INFORMATION IN FRENCH

This is a comprehensive and interactive PPT with 42 slides on greetings and personal information. The first part goes through the various ways of greetings, both formal and informal. The second part looks at how to ask and respond to a range of personal information: name, age, phone number, date of birth, where I live and come from, nationality, job, where you work. It is followed by some practice and a who's who game with pictures of famous people. It is suitable for KS3 students but I also found it very useful for KS4 students in preparation for the role-plays, as they often forget how to ask and respond properly to basic questions.

In the presentation as it is, it is aimed at year 7 students and includes: survival kit, countries, compass points, days of the week, months, seasons, greetings, school subjects, times of the day, frequency phrases, connectives and adjectives. Instructions: click on a number (possibly suggested by students in the target language) which will take you to the same number slide and introduce a word in English. Students then spell out the word and can check when you reveal the word on the board. Click on the bee in the top left-hand corner to return to the main slide and click on another number. Fun Giant Crosswords BUNDLE

Fun Giant Crosswords BUNDLE

3 fun giant quiz crosswords puzzles to use throughout the year. These work especially well for completion by groups, with pupils working together, pooling their knowledge and enjoying the challenge of trying to finish before other groups. Printing in A3 is ideal but if you can only do A4, this works fine too. These crosswords were originally designed for Upper Key Stage 2 but will also suit some lower KS2 classes as well as some early KS3 classes. You could use these as Back to School / Start of Year activities with your new class in the first week back, at the start or end of any terms, for special events during the year or for early finisher activities. There's a Children's Book Crossword that would suit World Book Day or some other celebration of reading and authors. The Roald Dahl Crossword could also be used for World Book Day, on Roald Dahl Day or after a focus on this writer. There's also a Basic French Revision Crossword that works especially well at the beginning or end of the year to revise key vocabulary on greetings and introductions, numbers, dates, weather, colours, classroom objects etc. Solutions for all crosswords are included as are Answer Sheets, which contain the answers listed in alphabetical order. These can be given out for support where needed or just provided at the end for pupils to complete any part of the puzzle they are stuck on. Alternatively pupils could research missing answers. If you want two or all three of these crosswords, this bundle offers the best value. However, if you would only like one, you can get it individually by clicking on the relevant resource. You can also do this to find out more detailed information and see previews for them. The French Crossword is also available as part of some of my great value French resource bundles - click on the French Crossword and follow the links to see more about the bundles. I hope your pupils enjoy using these and I would be grateful for any reviews you can leave here on TES. Many thanks. French Greetings Bundle

French Greetings Bundle

All you will need for a strong and engaging first lesson with your new classes. That first lesson back can be a bit flat because they resources for greetings and simple questions and answers can be pretty dull. Whether you buy this bundle to use with beginner learners or as a refresher lesson for new classes, you won't be disappointed. I have included a great video with music and robots for immediate impact- pop it on as they walk in. The PowerPoint introduces the vocab so you can drill and then includes some classic language games and a chance for you to get them to listen and match up (and copy the lang into their books if you wish). There is a 'one page learning' great for differentiation, as a support tool, a revision sheet, homework, learning mat...whatever you like! An interactive quiz for a snappy start or memorable exit game and two versions of follow me cards (small class or large class). Second PowerPoint to introduce days of week and months of year also included. GREAT VALUE!!! Please consider leaving a review :)

French Interactive Quiz: Greetings Robots Theme

French Interactive Quiz: Greetings Robots Theme

Interactive Quiz to test pupils on their understanding of greetings and simple questions and answers. Multiple choice answers, if they select the correct answer they are taken to a 'tres bien' slide, incorrectly they are taken to an 'oh non' slide and given a chance to choose again. It is great for a whole class quiz (you say the options and they pop hands up), or to out one pupil in the spotlight/hot seat or as a physical tap and go activity where they line up and make their selection then go to the back of the line. You could use a classroom timer to inject extra challenge and competition.
