Colour Count 2D Shapes Activity Cards - EYFS/Reception/Year 1

Colour Count 2D Shapes Activity Cards - EYFS/Reception/Year 1

This resource relates to counting 2D shapes of different colours. It is a 3-in-1 product that covers the early learning of colours, shapes and basic counting up to 10. Each page contains the same shapes but they are different colours. An ideal resource for children to practise colour recognition, 2D shapes and counting. Ideally, each sheet should be laminated and used with a dry-erase pen. Children count the shapes that are the same colour and then write the number in the space provided. Shapes used are: circle, square, triangle, rectangle, diamond/rhombus and pentagon. Extension opportunity: Some children can count beyond 10 and even 20 in Reception and Year 1, so once they have written down the number of shapes that are the same colours, they can then add the two numbers together to find the total number of, e.g., squares. Please see preview pane for sample of products. GO FISH game. Shapes

GO FISH game. Shapes

Activity Five cards are dealt to each player if three to six players are involved. With only two players, seven cards are dealt to each. All remaining cards are placed face down in a pile. First, choose a player to go first. n each persons turn, ask any player for a specific card rank. For example: Sarah, please give me all your ovals. You must already hold at least one card of the rank you ask for. If the player you ask has any cards of the requested rank, she must give all of her cards of that rank to you. In the example, Sarah would have to give you all of her ovals. If you get one or more cards from the player you ask, you get another turn. It starts again and you may ask any player for any rank you already hold, including the same one you just asked for. If the person you ask has no relevant cards, they say, Go fish. You then draw the top card from the draw pile. If you happen to draw a card of the rank asked for, show it to the other players and your turn continues. Otherwise, it is the next players turn. You add the drawn card to your hand. NOTE: The next player is the one who said Go fish. When you collect a set of four cards of the same rank, immediately show the set to the other players and place the four cards face down in front of yourself. That is a match. Go Fish continues until either someone has no cards left in their hand or the draw pile runs out. The winner is the player who then has the most matches (sets of four). For younger children you can deem matches a pair of a rank (2 cards instead of 4) which allows them to win a few extra times and keeps the game moving.

Drawing Out Of Chaos: Sample

Hi! This is a sample of one of my current projects - I have been using modular exponentiation to create regular line drawings for anybody to colour in. (of varying difficulties) This pack contains 9 drawings selected from my vast catalogue that can be used everywhere from classrooms to coffee tables, perhaps as a therapeutic activity to start off the day for your students. Please leave a review so I know what you think of them, and whether I should add more - after all, there are more of these drawings than there are atoms in the universe. Hope you enjoy! Harry
