List of Fantastic Maths Warm-Ups

List of Fantastic Maths Warm-Ups

I always start a maths lesson with a quick maths activity and I’ve gotten tired of using the same maths warm-ups over and over. This is a list of warm-ups I’ve compiled to use with my reception / kindergarten class but many could be adapted to suit a range of ages. My kids and myself are loving some these new warm-ups!! For the “what can you tell me about this number?” activity I printed some beautiful numbers off of instantdisplay.co.uk Please comment below if you have any I can add to my growing repertoire of fun maths warm-ups! Season TEACCH Bundle - Independent Autism and SEND Activities

Season TEACCH Bundle - Independent Autism and SEND Activities

Save 25% with this Seasonal Bundle. Activities and tasks for your pupils with Autism! Includes early reading, writing and maths activities to help achieve those early targets and build on working independently! These are the individual resources included: Spring TEACCH Tasks £3 Summer TEACCH Tasks £3 Autumn TEACCH Tasks £3 Winter TEACCH Tasks £3 When using TEACCH tasks the task that is to be completed should be placed on the left hand side of the desk/workstation. The pupil then completes this task and places it on the right when completed. Having a clear visual for the pupil to identify where the finished tasks go is preferable. This clear structure allows the pupils to focus on the task they are completing and not be distracted by the work process. It is important to remember that when completing these tasks it is also about creating and building independence as well as success at the task, this is why the consistent work approach (working from left to right is so important) When using these tasks I would recommend using them for at least 4-6 weeks. For some children it may take up to a term for them to master the skill and be able to complete this independently.

Colour Count 2D Shapes Activity Cards - EYFS/Reception/Year 1

Colour Count 2D Shapes Activity Cards - EYFS/Reception/Year 1

This resource relates to counting 2D shapes of different colours. It is a 3-in-1 product that covers the early learning of colours, shapes and basic counting up to 10. Each page contains the same shapes but they are different colours. An ideal resource for children to practise colour recognition, 2D shapes and counting. Ideally, each sheet should be laminated and used with a dry-erase pen. Children count the shapes that are the same colour and then write the number in the space provided. Shapes used are: circle, square, triangle, rectangle, diamond/rhombus and pentagon. Extension opportunity: Some children can count beyond 10 and even 20 in Reception and Year 1, so once they have written down the number of shapes that are the same colours, they can then add the two numbers together to find the total number of, e.g., squares. Please see preview pane for sample of products. Develop mastery in maths and build self-esteem | Discussing & Reasoning Resource

Develop mastery in maths and build self-esteem | Discussing & Reasoning Resource

10 PIECE DOWNLOAD ✔️ Improve mastery skills, develop self-esteem and encourage positive thinking. ✔️ Create engaging and thought-provoking discussions. ✔️ Provide opportunities for all learners to develop reasoning skills and build self-esteem. ✔️ Perfect for small group interventions and whole class lessons. Life By Shape resources can help improve mastery skills in two ways: showing how images can be used to represent problems or ideas giving an opportunity for children to discuss and reason Each Life By Shape resource included in this package shows words of inspiration and motivation represented by an image of shape. Using images to represent Each image has been designed to represent (or show) a motivational message. The key here is for children to try and imagine that each shape within an image represents an individual person. Once children understand this concept, the discussions really start flowing. Discussing & Reasoning Here are some possible questions that children could be asked to generate some discussions. How does the image relate to the words? Why do you think the bottom left square is different? And what could this represent? Why is the bottom left square a different colour to the rest? Why are all of the other shapes in a perfect pattern? If you were one of these squares, which one would you be? It’s important to remember that there does not have to be a right answer. The point of this is to give children an opportunity to express their thoughts through discussions and reasoning by ‘agreeing’ or ‘disagreeing’ with other children. How can Life By Shape resources help to build self-esteem and develop positive thinking? Each Life By Shape resource has a message of inspiration or motivation for children. Combined with discussions, all types of learners can access and understand important messages to build self-esteem and develop positive thinking.
