At this time of year, we all have lots of ‘jobs’ on our ‘to do’ list and the last thing we need is ‘bits’ to laminate! For that reason, I have created some fun pages for this Christmas Literacy and Numeracy Activities Pack, that need little or no preparation - ready to keep those early finishers occupied! I have included a range of activities for a range of abilities, some just plain fun and some a little more challenging. Review skills are included throughout the 10 literacy and 10 math activities. Cutting, glueing and colouring will be required. A little interactive flip flap fun is also included! All activities are in both colour and black-line versions. Every child can participate due to the differentiation. The game involves trying to collect the most cards by comparing scores for various attributes. There are 2 x 32 Santa cards. The first set features a score for each attribute - speed, agility, strength, endurance and magical powers - all important things for Santa! The second set features a multiplication operation up to 20. The resource also contains a fully editable PowerPoint in which the mathematical operation can be added. For example addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, mixed operations and calculations etc. Rules of the game are included. 4. Stop the Sleigh is a seasonal variation of 'Stop The Bus'. This game involves pupils finding the names of various items in categories. The categories include - elf's name, angel's name, item of winter clothing, Christmas food, - toy or game, TV programme or film and an item that can be found on an Advent Calendar. Pupils are placed into teams of 2-4. Teams choose, in turn, a letter via an 'advent calendar'. Behind each picture on the calendar is a letter. Teams have to think of one item to go into each category beginning with the selected letter. The first team to finish shouts “Santa – Stop the Sleigh!” If you have a bell a pupil can run out to ring the bell to stop the game! As a timer, choose some popular Christmas music. 5. Happy Families - Christmas Happy Families is a bright and colourful resource which can be laminated and used for many educational and fun activities. The game involves collecting all 4 members of the family. There are 56 cards ( 14 families ) printed with Christmas themed pictures. 6. Snap - Christmas Snap with 48 Christmas themed cards. THE JOYS OF WINTER

A set of exercises created especially for the winter season will develop the thinking, fine motor, attention, observation, imagination and rich vocabulary skills of children of all ages and diverse development. By sorting the items in accordance to their colour and size, learning to spot the differences and similarities, counting in intervals by ten, spelling words, decrypting inscriptions, finding words and writing them down correctly, drawing, cutting and folding, children will deepen their knowledge and skills as well as become ready for the most beautiful holidays – Christmas and New year. The set consists of five types of educational exercises: computing, reading and writing, logical thinking, drawing and creative works. To make learning more interesting, let the children rotate the task wheel pointer which will indicate the type of exercise they have to complete. This set can replace the traditional Advent calendar, you just have to offer the children to do one task per day; there are 24 tasks in total. And if children still want sweets, give them some sort of delicious reward for a successful job.
