Here is a little worksheet I created for those who would like to practice their knowledge and understanding of basic algebra and apply it to the written questions. Enjoy.

#### Algebra worksheet

Nothing elaborate - just a worksheet based on fairly typical 11+ algebra questions.\nI put it together just for a bit of extra practice for my pupils - algebra isn't exactly a favourite topic!

#### Holiday Planning problem

This was set in Robin Hood's Bay but can be adapted for anywhere in the country/world. The children are given a budget and a task to book a holiday. They must then, in groups, decide how to spend that budget. Teachers can adapt as they please. Here the budget is £1000 but the sheet is for a budget of £1500 so you can see how I have partially adapted it myself.

#### Patio Building Practical

I adapted this from a worksheet on problem solving I saw recently. The objective is for pupils to use logic to build a patio, and also to come up with a specific recording method. The final task is the real challenge.
It can be differentiated in a variety of ways for most UKS2 classes

#### Introducing Multiplication KS1

Flip- chart moves through stages of multiplication as repeated addition and then an array. Can be made more practical (fun) by having a collection of small pairs of socks and lots of real life examples of an array. Also children love the chocolate challenge!
#### Sequence Ratio Worksheet - Differentiated

This is a nice activity to introduce the idea of ratio, by using sequences. Suitable for KS2.

I found it useful to use pieces of card (e.g. 1 yellow for every 2 blue) to visually demonstrate beforehand (using volunteers - each holding the correct ratio) and show how to record this into a table on the whiteboard as you go, before using this resource as the main activity.

I also allowed children to use counters at their table to aid them whilst completing the worksheet, as this was very beneficial to some learners.
