All you need to get students confidently using German numbers. This pack focuses on getting the students to use their logic to work out how numbers in German are put together, including irregular ones. This pack includes a 47-slide powerpoint presentation, crossword puzzles, card sort and jigsaw puzzle and list of game ideas to practise numbers. Details: The presentation includes pronunciation practise of ei-ie, different activities and games to practise the numbers and links to quizlet and Kahoot. The card sorting activity shows numbers in different Germanic languages to make students understand language families and cognates. There are two tarsia jigsaw puzzles for lower and higher numbers. Students cut out the square and triangular pieces and work out what shape they need to make by matching up the numbers in German. Note: For some activities you need to draw on the powerpoint. Display the numbers so everybody in the class can see them: one number per A4 sheet. To display both number words and colour words, print the numbers on coloured paper and make sure the colour of the sheets for 1-11 match the words at the bottom. Alternatively print in black and white and colour in the numbers or use the version without colour words.

A fun way to practice German numbers during Halloween. You can also use the worksheet to help practice writing and saying the numbers and the second presentation gives you 31 ideas about how to use flashcards in the classroom. You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different skeletons being shown in each of the photos. You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching display about the Halloween Skeleton Counting Song. The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into different groups of skeletons. The students can then discuss what they think each skeleton was saying or thinking. The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing.

Try it, it is a lot of fun for everyone! * Please note - these resources provide visual prompts, not specific language instruction. German Bingo pack: This is a simple starter game for students. There are 114 different pictures to choose from. Select a single picture and project the image on the wall or share it with the class as a hand-out. Let's Talk in German!: This set of cards looks at 57 different settings. The teacher describes something in the top card. The students then use this to model a sentence using the bottom set of pictures. There are lots of things to see and describe in every picture. When the students have completed this task, they can repeat it by working in pairs to discuss each picture. Let's Write in German pack: There are lots of ways of using this teaching pack. It could be used as writing assessment for students learning German. The students could write about a topic in German before and then after a topic, using the second worksheet at the end of the topic.

German Grand Prix Game Starter Plenary Revision

To celebrate the German F1 Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring I have created this interactive game for my German students. Enter your own questions and multiple choice answers and watch as two teams battle it out to be the first car past the finishing line. Possible instructions on the first slide. ENABLE ALL MACROS AND REDUCE SECURITY ON YOUR PC FOR THIS TO WORK PROPERLY. I will split my class up into two teams and give everybody a mini whiteboard. Pupils will write the answer of the question on their mini whiteboard and hold it up after my count down. The team with the most correct answers will be the team who's car will move around the screen (just click on the car) Enjoy, and I look forward to your feedback :)
