Beetles Wordsearch Insects Animals Starter Settler Activity Homework Cover Lesson

Beetles Wordsearch Insects Animals Starter Settler Activity Homework Cover Lesson

Wordsearch on the theme of 'Beetles'. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!

Create a Monster Paper Bag Puppets

Create a Monster Paper Bag Puppets

Let the students design their own Hallowe'en Monster! What is included: - 1 head shape - 2 body shapes - 4 options for eyes - 4 options for eyes / nose - 3 options for mouths - hair plus 2 antennae - 2 simple writing activities have been prepared which can be placed on the back of the monster (grade 1 or 2 or 3) JK and K can just make the paper bag puppets and not do the writing activities. All the students have to do is design the head: add eyes, mouth, hair, antennae, nose and then choose a body .... color, glue and the monster is created. The fun part will be to see how many variations will be created within your class! Students can add things to the body of their monster as they see fit! Have created these so that something from each monster will hang over the base of the paper bag. - please look at the preview What you need: - paper, scissors, glue - brown paper bags (I bought mine in Michigan USA at a dollar store. They come 40 in a bag for $1.) Size listed on bag: 5 1/8 x 3 1/8 x 10 5/8 inches or 13 x 7.9 x 27 cm If your bag is a different size then just adjust your photocopying. Always make sure you download and save the project before printing! Sometimes customers just right click on the preview of a download and things don't print properly!
