Musical Notes Time Challenges

Musical Notes Time Challenges

Assess your students' note identification knowledge and encourage them to practise and improve with these time challenges. Students start at level 1 and work their way through to level 13. They are given one minute to name all 30 notes. Once they have done so correctly, they can move on to the next level. Each week, alternate the two sheets for the level so students cannot memorise the pattern of notes. Level 1 – Treble clef spaces Level 2 – Treble clef lines Level 3 – Treble clef lines and spaces Level 4 – Bass clef spaces Level 5 – Bass clef lines Level 6 – Bass clef lines and spaces Level 7 – Treble and bass clef spaces Level 8 – Treble and bass clef lines Level 9 – Treble and bass clef lines and spaces Level 10 – Treble clef ledger lines Level 11 – Bass clef ledger lines Level 12 – Treble and bass clef ledger lines Level 13 – All notes The pack includes a full answer sheet. Record your students' results using the group tracker and/or individual tracker.

DRUM KIT | 5 Popular Songs for Beginners

DRUM KIT | 5 Popular Songs for Beginners

Pieces have been simplified in both notation and technical ability. 1. Ruby - Kaiser Chiefs 2. Don't Look Back In Anger - Oasis 3. We Are The Champions - Queen 4. Rolling In The Deep - Adele 5. All Right Now - Free Note: The Tom positions have been changed to being on the lines (instead of in between) as I have reduced the stave down to 3 lines and pupils have stated they find this easier for identifying Toms with them having a line through them.

Take That Band Group Wordsearch Sheet Keywords KS3 Settler Starter Cover Lesson Music Musicians

Take That Band Group Wordsearch Sheet Keywords KS3 Settler Starter Cover Lesson Music Musicians

Wordsearch on the theme of 'Take That'. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!

Playscript and lyrics - Book Week Assembly

Playscript and lyrics - Book Week Assembly

This is a play script I used for a Year 4 class assembly. The theme is Persistence and is centered around authors, specifically Roald Dahl, J.K Rowling and Dr. Suess. It is a perfect play to use for Book Week. The performance has a cast of 24 students (parts can be combined or split if needed). The play lasts around 30 minutes and includes two songs and a dance routine. The different roles gives opportunities to all students from the dramatic ones to the more reserved. I hope your class enjoys it as much as mine did!
