Tour de France '17 PE

Tour de France '17 PE

Tour de France 2017 is a PowerPoint presentation with information about this year's Tour. You can use it as an introduction to the sport of cycling and engage students in following the tour. There is a set of 20 questions on the power-point with answers, a set of Key French words with meanings and extra video links with further information surrounding the tour and the places it will go through this year. I have included a list of extra tasks that you can use and develop with your class depending on time, ability and needs. This set of resources can be used with students from year 6 to year 9 or 10, I have used it with all ages and abilities and it is always an engaging topic. The tour starts on the 1st of July, I hope you enjoy it.

Excel Sport Tournament Planner

Excel Sport Tournament Planner

Created to follow the teams within the Euro 2016 football championship finals. The spreadsheet follows the tournament from the group stage, to the knock out stage, all the way to the last 16. The top four third placed teams have also been worked out, though in a slightly different way to FIFA (points, goal difference, goals for, goals against, wins, losses)! I've left the teams in so you can see how the sheet works. I was initially interested in seeing if I could work out which of the top third placed teams would progress to the knock out stage, then decided to make a full tournament spreadsheet. I've left the spreadsheet unprotected so you can adapt and change as you see fit. Group stage sheet: Adjust team names: Team names are easily adjusted: Simply replace the country names within the WHITE group stage boxes and within the hidden cells (Between columns Q - AF and AT-BJ). Scoring: Add scores within the score columns. The BLUE tables will adjust accordingly. Knockout round sheet: Adjust Knock out round locations: Simply rewrite the names of the knockout round locations. The information will adjust accordingly. Scoring: Simply add the resultant scores within the scoring columns. The results will automatically insert the winning teams into the next round of the competition. I used this with my tutor group to follow the Euro 2016 football tournament, but it is also ideal for use within regional competitions. Lots of cross curricular links with ICT, PE, Digital Competence and maths lessons.
