El trabajo Find Someone Who Can worksheet activity

El trabajo Find Someone Who Can worksheet activity

This is another Find Someone Who Can activity, so it needs to be a little interactive. If you don’t use them, students have a set amount of time to get the answers from their peers. They can’t rely on the same person more than a given number of times (your choice as to the number) and they cannot rely on themselves in the same way. The aim is to get students of differing abilities to circulate, to share knowledge, and to create little opportunities for less confident students to ask why answers are they way they are. The vocabulary is a little stretching, but it works very well and gives every student an opportunity to access the kind of vocabulary they need to excel. It’s up to you how you would prefer to check the answers. Sometimes I mark the sheets, sometimes I go through each question on the white board with the entire class, and other times I display the answers for students to check and correct themselves. Sometimes, if students are asked to check and correct, they don’t always have the same eye for detail as I’d have liked, so I make sure my students know that I look out for that when I mark their books.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE STORY BOOKLET Print the document in Booklet size on normal A4 paper. Fold the pages in the middle and staple them. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CARD GAME This game is a version of the classic I-Have-Who-Has game. Print the document one-sided, laminate and cut out the cards. Distribute all the cards randomly to the students. The ideal number of players is 6 (4 cards for each student), but it will also work with 2 to 12 players. For bigger classes, you might want to print several copies. Select a student to begin the game by reading his card out loud and then putting it down. The other students listen attentively to each question, answer it if they have the answer card and then they read the next question. The game is over when all the cards are down. It is a great game to practice the newly taught vocabulary, as well as reading and listening skills.

They cover all aspects of Theme 3 (Current and future study and employment), and they can be used in lessons, but also as an easy way to set useful homework activities for the students. All questions include four bullet points that the students are prompted to cover, and they explicitly require them to include references to three time frames and opinions (as per the AQA mark scheme). When possible, one of the bullet points starts with 'qué hiciste', a question which appears in many of the AQA samples and that some students often fail to understand.
