National Airlines Wordsearch Planes Transport Starter Settler Activity Homework Cover Lesson

National Airlines Wordsearch Planes Transport Starter Settler Activity Homework Cover Lesson

Wordsearch on the theme of 'National Airlines'. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!

Squashed Tomato Challenge - Welsh

Squashed Tomato Challenge - Welsh

A STEM Challenge where pupils design and build a model to move tomatoes down a mountain A fun hands on investigation suitable for pupils aged 7-19, written in Welsh. Challenge your students to take on a real -world problem affecting people in Nepal. The problem: In Nepal many farmers living on the mountainside grow fruit and vegetables, including tomatoes. The challenge: To design, build and test a way of moving tomatoes that won't squash them! The activity is accredited by the British Science Association as suitable to count towards a CREST SuperStar Discovery, Bronze or Silver Award . For more information about the scheme please visit their website The challenge can provide a focus for British Science Week ; be used as a STEM or science club activity; enhance a lesson on forces/friction/levers; form the basis of an enrichment day; provide an activity for SEAL and PLTS and be the starting point for a range of cross-curricular activities.
