Sentence building intervention activity with sight words

Sentence building intervention activity with sight words

I’m an EL teacher, and many of my young learners have trouble with writing and understanding even the basic sentences they are reading. This resource uses easy-to-understand graphics to help kids read, then trace, then sort a sentence. It also links those graphics to some of the first sight words they need to learn (ex. I, see, like, we). It’s been a great resource for struggling students and English learners especially! We laminate these and use Velcro dots to make this into an easy center or independent activity for struggling learners, or it could be sent home or used individually as a read, trace, cut, and paste activity for more independent learners. Volcanoes Montessori Definition Cards

These definition cards are the next step in reading following success with the 3-Part volcano cards. These definitions are challenging, to be sure, bu I know I always had at least one child that really enjoyed this work. I have divided these up into two sets. Set one - a full definition card with the nomenclature in red a second card, but with the nomenclature cut off the nomenclature label to match. Set two - a control card with the full definition, nomenclature in red the definitions are cut into three pieces for the children to match together. There are 18 sets of definitions, so you may wish to rotate these.
