This is a solo student colouring mosaic (as opposed to a collaborative math mosaic). Students will gain familiarity with plenty of single digit multiplication products, some 2-digit x 1-digit (and sometimes a 1 x big number randomly).
This task gives some great motivation to work through a bunch of multiplication facts, since the picture only takes shape when all the squares are correctly coloured.

Here is the point of intersection between Math and Justice! Linear systems meet superheroes in a collaboratively engaging math class colouring battle! Two 12-sheet mosaics are included (Superman and Batman), so you can split up your students and have a substitution-and-elimination-filled showdown! May the best coloured hero win! Each student's worksheet represents a small section of the larger hero mosaic.
Each mosaic consists of 12 worksheets (each one unique!) containing 12 linear system problems. The problems are designed to encourage students to choose the most appropriate strategy (substitution, elimination, or graphing). Students solve for the point of intersection of each system, then use the specified coordinate to colour their worksheets based on the colour key. Students' sheets combine to create the hero mosaics.
The collaborative motivation is huge!

Engage your whole class this Christmas in a giant collaborative math colouring quest! This high-school take on "colour-by-number" style worksheets will have even your most reluctant students working to complete their assignments!
For Christmas this year, I wanted to give you all something awesome! Compared to the amazing grace God showed the world when he sent his Son on that first Christmas, this giant free bundle is a very very small gift to help you and your students remember God's great promise fulfilled "...the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace." Students help the young mathematically-inclined warrior Zachary rescue the kidnapped Princess Eva by applying their knowledge of trigonometry, proportional reasoning, linear relations & systems, quadratic relations, simple trinomial factoring, and 3D measurement.

If your class size doesn’t line up with 20, no worries! If you have a small class, in my experience, students are eager to do additional sheets to complete the picture! (Or you could use the answer key to have students colour the missing pieces quickly.) If your class is large, you could hand out duplicate sheets to those less likely to appreciate the colouring component of the task ;)

Students solve the fraction problems, then use the answers to colour their worksheets based on the colour key. Their sheets combine to create the mosaic image!

The student buy-in factor is HUGE with these worksheets; they all want to see the finished picture come together! Middle school students love colouring too! This sure beats textbook homework! This would also be a good review before teaching rational functions to high school students.
Leave the picture a secret, or let them know in advance for motivation… it’s your call.
Encourage students to check their answers by finding them in the randomized list on their worksheet before they colour each square. This will increase the accuracy of the final picture!
All my “Colouring by…” worksheets use standard pencil-crayon colours found in the Crayola 24 pack. For best results, use the exact colour name match (and encourage quality colouring!). Perhaps a class set of pencil crayons would be a fun math department investment!

Build proficiency in your students' French number vocabulary with this fun collaborative colouring activity. It is different than other colour-by-number worksheets, since each student's worksheet represents only a small section of the large whole-class mosaic. The collaborative aspect of these worksheets will have THEM policing the homework completion. (Nobody wants to be responsible for the hole in the picture!) Paris and the Eiffel Tower are icons of French, and would certainly enhance your classroom hanging up on the wall!
It's simple:
1) Calculate / Solve
2) Colour
3) Cut
4) Combine
FOUR DIFFERENT VERSIONS INCLUDED: (.pdf and .docx format)
1) Math facts (+, - , ⨯, ÷ ) for numbers 0 –> 100, answers given in French words.
**Example problems:
Quarante moins Trente-et-un = ?
Cinquante-quatre divisé par Trois = ?
Trente-cinq plus Onze = ?
2) Basic translation from words to numerals (numbers 1 –> 100, answers given in numeral form)

For each version, a number-range answer key is provided, so you can assess students' responses at a glance, or use the range to correctly colour any extra worksheets. In my experience, students are asking to complete extra sheets to see the picture completed!
These worksheets apply to the vocabulary component of the grade 6 Ontario Core-French curriculum. (basic vocabulary including numbers from 1 to 100)
