Music Assessment Grids

Music Assessment Grids

I've just made these music assessment grids for my school - kind of a first draft. Thought they may be of use to someone else, would appreciate any feedback. They are based on the outcomes from QCA units (the ones which most children should achieve.)

Music Assessment Spreadsheet

Music Assessment Spreadsheet

This spreadsheet covers the End of Unit learning outcomes for each unit in Music Express. I use it in conjunction with the Music Express Assessment Sheets available from the AC Black website. I type in the names of all the children down the left hand side and then, if they have achieved the objective (the "most children..." one), I type a y which turns the cell yellow. If they have not achieved it, I type an r which turns the cell red and if they have gone further, I type a g which turns the cell green. The objectives for Years 1 and 2 are the same so I expect children in Year 1 will be mainly Red or Yellow. Children in Year 2 should be mainly Yellow or Green. This follows on in Years 3 and 4, where the objectives are the same, and then in Year 5 and 6 as well. At the end of each spreadsheet, you could add your own specific skills based assessment criteria.
