EXPLORING THE FOOD ROOM

Learning intentions - Today we are learning how to: work together as a team and access resources in a food room This lesson was developed when we moved to a new school building and was used with all pupils on the first day in the new rooms It is now used with any classes who are using the room for the first time. Resources include a pp with the tasks, a set of teachers notes and appendices required to deliver the lesson. This lesson is easily adapted to suit the set up in your food room It is a fun active way for pupils to learn where resources are stored and because it is done in cooperative groups it reinforces the need to work effectively as a group in a food room. It also gives the teacher the opportunity to observe the class before arranging groups, who listens to/follows instructions, who are the more independent learners who needs more support etc.
