Filippo Marinetti quotes, explaining the Italian Futurist art movement - free resource: modern art

Filippo Marinetti quotes, explaining the Italian Futurist art movement - free resource: modern art

Filippo Marinetti explains and describes in his quotes the basic ideas and goals of Italian Futurism art - free art-resource for pupils, students, teachers Marinetti was an Italian poet, writer and editor. He founded Futurism by publishing his first ‘Futurist Manifesto’ in 1909 in ‘Le Figaro’. As his quotes reveal, violence, dynamic, rolling traffic and moving masses in the modern city were most important inspirations for him. This was Marinetti’s thorough ground to develop Futurism as a new art movement and to call for Futurist visual art, which could express these new phenomena of the modern times in the cities! Marinetti adored big city life with its traffic, masses and the sounds and speed of cars. It was only a few years later that Marinetti found in 1911 his Futurist companions in the younger painter artists, Boccioni, Carrà, Severini and Russolo, a. o.; they published a common Futurist Manifesto. In 1918 Marinetti connected Futurism strongly with Italian Fascism. other useful links: biographical notes on Filippo Marinetti, Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filippo_Tommaso_Marinetti artist-quotes of ànd about Marinetti, Wikiquote: https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Filippo_Tommaso_Marinetti . editor: Fons Heijnsbroek (= FotoDutch on Wikiquote): http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/User:FotoDutch
