Shadow of the Wind - notes to make during reading

My A-Level class will be studying Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón which is a fantastic book but has a great deal of content and a range of colourful characters therefore, to help my students I have created three documents for collecting and organising ideas and information about the novel. Character notes - a table outlining the main characters in the novel with sections for keeping information about their personality, events and opinions. This will be useful for preparing for essay questions that require an analysis of individual characters. Plot notes - a table for keeping track of important plot events, the impact on the storyline, characters involved and the impact on them. Essay ideas - I have put together 13 potential essay titles with space for students to make note of any ideas/evidence from the novel/analysis with regards to each title. Some of the questions are taken from the AQA specimen papers and the rest are ones that I have adapted/created based on the essay question titles for the other literature options at A-Level. In the autumn term we will be studying the novel in greater detail in lessons and the notes that the students will have made using these documents will be very useful support in class. I will also be uploading the resources that I will be creating on various elements of the novel such as; themes, characters, symbols, plotline and a general introductory lesson to the novel.
