Erica's Errors On Trigonometric Functions

Erica's Errors On Trigonometric Functions

Erica is struggling with trigonometric functions this time. these questions invlolve sec, cosec and cot and Erica is struggling. Can your class help explain where she has gone wrong. This allows students to demonstrate understanding and discuss their thinking.

Trigonometry - SOHCAHTOA

Trigonometry - SOHCAHTOA

A complete lesson on using and applying Trigonometry to right angled triangles which is suitable for the new curriculum. Pupils are given the chance to master the fluency of this topic aswell as work on reasoning and problem solving tasks. All tasks are differentiated to 3 levels all with solutions and offer lots of consolidation as well as alot of challenge. Can be used with KS3/KS4.

Erica's Errors On Radians

Erica's Errors On Radians

Erica is struggling with radians this time and has messed up 5 questions on her homework. Can you help Erica sort out some arc lengths, an area of a sector and some trigonometric equations? She will need her answers correcting and then explanations as to where she went wrong. This should encourage discussion.

Can you crack the code? Further maths revision challenge - perfect for new spec problem solving

Can you crack the code? Further maths revision challenge - perfect for new spec problem solving

For these lessons, I have a wooden box which I fill full of goodies (fruits, sweets etc). I then have a large metal chain wrapped around the box with a colourful padlock on (all of which builds the tension...). The aim is for the students to work away in pairs to crack the code! If you don't want to purchase the box etc, the worksheet works perfectly well on it's own. Note: the solution for this worksheet is 6452. This worksheet is a real challenge for your KS5 students - perfect for the new A Level demands.

Trigonometry Relay Race (CCSS.HSF.TF.B.7)

Trigonometry Relay Race (CCSS.HSF.TF.B.7)

We've made a trigonometry version of our beloved relay race! In the trigonometry relay race, students are required to use knowledge of: - sine, cosine, tangent - inverse to determine angles - converting degrees to radians and radians to degrees - the unit circle - finding unknown sides using trig functions - exact values of common angles - relationships between sine, cosine and tangent Now with an answer key and equation bank! Our students always love the relay race and is our favorite review for students.

Solving Triangles (Poster)

Solving Triangles (Poster)

Originally designed for my own classroom, I am delighted to share this poster about Trigonometry. Includes the Sine and Cosine Rules as well as Pythagoras and SOH CAH TOA. The files in this bundle make it easy for you to print as A5 handouts for students to keep, or as high quality posters from A4 up to A1. Look for my posters on other topics, which are also available for free on TES.com

Converting Between Radians and Degrees Scavenger Hunt (CCSS.HSF.TF.A)

Converting Between Radians and Degrees Scavenger Hunt (CCSS.HSF.TF.A)

Students will be required to convert radians to degrees or degrees to radians. Students will start at any poster they want, solve the question and look for the answer around the room. If done correctly, students will end up back at the same poster. This is a great practice and review as it promotes self-checking and understanding of the content. We have only had success with scavenger hunts in our classroom.
