Lesson on Equations of Straight Lines

Lesson on Equations of Straight Lines

These are two starter lessons on equations of straight lines. The first is on sketching, and focus on gradient interpretation and the connection between a line and its equation. The second is on finding line equations in general. The bundle contains both the lesson presentations with 'overlay animations', where steps are reviewed one at a time. There is also an accompanying presenter view pdf for teachers for each lesson ppt. The documents are prepared meticulously with LaTeX, I hope you find these useful. In addition, you can get unlimited number of high quality practice questions and solutions for both lessons on my website: www.onemathsquestions.com. You can generate the worksheets yourself, and each question will come with a set of very detailed step by step solutions, set out in exactly the same way as the lesson presentation examples. Hope you find these useful, and if you have any comments or suggestions, please feel free to contact me through TES or my website. Best wishes, Joe

Two stage equation solving matching exercise and code breaker

Two stage equation solving matching exercise and code breaker

A more interactive resource (fully differentiated) on solving equations such as 2x - 3 = 17. Students must match the correct equation with the solution in the lower half of the grid. The other is a code breaker where solving the equation gives a coded message. Ideal for homeworks or to consolidate learning of this algebraic staple

Tour de France Formulas Lesson

Tour de France Formulas Lesson

I made this for my year 6 Maths class although it could be used higher up. It gets the class using formula repetitively before applying their learning to word problems. All the work is differentiated and the sheets just need to be printed from the slides. ALL WORKSHEETS COME WITH ANSWERS!

Problem Solving with Extra or Missing Information

Problem Solving with Extra or Missing Information

Included in this product are an open ended work mat for 10 different scenarios and 2 sets of 12 task cards. In the open ended problems, students identify the extra information, the missing information, and show how to solve the problem. If possible, students also develop an equation that can be used to solve the problem. The task card sets are in a multiple choice format printed with or without QR codes. The entire product is printed in black and white. I recommend printing the product on colored card stock then laminating for durability.
