Back to School Maths Activities BUNDLE (Year 6 / P7)

Back to School Maths Activities BUNDLE (Year 6 / P7)

Easy to prepare Maths games and activities, ideal for the first week back at school or to stock up your maths shelf for use throughout the year. As a revision and consolidation pack, this best suits Year 6 (P7 and other equivalents), although the resources would suit some younger classes / groups if all included concepts have been covered. After the holidays, before teaching any new aspects of maths, you can get pupils improving their mental agility with these fun Crossnumber puzzles (featuring addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, decimals). You can have them work on those times tables they've forgotten over the summer with these Four in a Row games. Plus you can have them work independently or collaboratively on these mostly multi-step Word Problems challenge cards - a key area to come back to over and over again to ensure pupils can use the four operations in context. Please click on the resources to see previews and more detailed information about each one. I hope this bundle saves you time and helps to get your pupils off to a flying start without you having to do a whole load of planning in the first few days. If you can spare a moment I would be grateful for any reviews. Many thanks. Measurement homework.

Measurement homework.

Editable measurement homework. Use a ruler, weighing scales, a measuring jug/cups to find the answers to these questions. Some of the answers will be printed on the products. If you don’t have any scales, try to estimate the weight. If you don’t have a measuring jug, use a milk bottle, (which will hold a litre), and try to work it out).

Tic Tac Toe Inquiry Based Math Homework Activities 3rd-4th Grade

Tic Tac Toe Inquiry Based Math Homework Activities 3rd-4th Grade

Homework suddenly becomes FUN and meaningful! Double whammy! Be the coolest teacher in the school with these engaging inquiry based tasks focusing on math skills. This EASY print and go packet contains 8 themed homework sheets with 9 trans-disciplinary activities in each theme, giving a total of 72 different inquiry based activities. They are planned around the IB Phase 3 & 4 and the CCSS Math standards for 3rd and 4th grade. I have used these homework sheets as a reflection piece for my IB PYP class to gauge their own knowledge and learning. They can also be used successfully as formative assessments/exit slips depending on the needs of your class. Mix and match the pages! The activities focus on the Key Concepts, Learner Profile and the IB Attitudes, requiring the children to show their thinking and explain their solutions. Every one of the transdisciplinary skills is used within these activities as the children get to independently select their homework, research it and communicate their findings in fun, engaging and very creative ways. I hope you find this resource useful. Please take a look at the many other resources that I have in my store and on my blog, all aligned with the CCSS and the IB Primary Years Programme. Enjoy! Maths Targets Sheets and Poster for Year 1

Maths Targets Sheets and Poster for Year 1

This poster and target sheets set is aimed at supporting assessment of 15 key objectives for the Year 1 maths curriculum, making it ideal for back to school preparations. The 15 objectives are presented in an engaging and child-friendly style, which encourages children to be aware of their own learning targets and to begin to use self-assessment strategies. The objectives cover number, fractions, measures, calculation, shape and money and can be used in the following ways in the classroom: 1. Two A4 sized PDF files, which have full-sized versions of the target sheets (8 targets on one sheet & 7 on the other). These can be used for a class poster. 2. A PDF file containing smaller versions of the 2 sheets, which can be stuck into children's books for self-assessment. Each target contains a tick box for the children to complete when it has been met. In addition, the original images are included as PNG files, which can be used in any way necessary, and there is also a certificate for children who achieve all of the targets. If you have any requests for changes to any of the target sheets, please contact me in the comments section below.
