Printable Math Games for Primary Maths Centres

Printable Math Games for Primary Maths Centres

This is a BUNDLE of 10 Math Games, that cater for a pair of students or small group activity. These make organising Math Centres easy and fun. These are dice games, most 6-sided dice. There are 10 games, that once you print, laminate and store are ready to use. Great fro BTS organisation. The games target dice patterns, thinking about probability, logic and chance: quick mental addition: multiplication (times tables) Some of these games are familiar, old pen and paper ideas, but once I made laminated boards the students took more care and paid attention: the games had become popular activities. In the beginning students started finger pointing to count the dice dots, but they learned the patterns very quickly. Some of the games are multi-levelled so students can begin playing with an easy version, then move to more difficult as their understanding grows. I have a group of Yr6 boys who use 30 dice to play one game! They total very quickly now! Some of these games are available as individual products, if you'd rather, but you save money with a bundle, of course.

Necklace length activity

Necklace length activity

An activity to draw necklaces of a given length and then compare to find the longest and shortest. We used it as part of a Royalty unit alongside practical jewellery making. I asked the children to draw the line of the necklace first, then add their decorations by drawing, collaging etc. You could also incorporate repeating patterns or symmetry.

Apples Counting and Addition Fun

Apples Counting and Addition Fun

Practice counting and adding up to 10 with these apples, trees, and ten frames. Included in this product are ten frames up to 20 (1-10 in red, 11-20 in green); two plain trees; trees with 1-10 red apples; trees with 1-10 green apples; apples labeled from 1-10 in both red and green; a mat for sorting apples between red and green; a plain line art apple page; two mini-books with empty apple trees (one with numbers from 1 to 8, the other with blanks for the student to write numbers of their choosing); and a page with a lion, tiger, and dog with the label “Put 10 Apples on Top.” This last page is inspired by the picture book Ten Apples on Top by P.D. Eastman. We use red and green pompoms to practice counting and sorting the apples. Any small manipulative would work, including small stones, stickers, translucent counting tiles, or candies. When students practice one-to-one correspondence in such a way, they can also transfer the items from the tree to a ten frame to determine the number as they count. The plain apple template could also be used for a craft or for decoration. Have your students rip small bits of construction paper or tissue paper and glue them to the apple template. Students can illustrate the mini-books with the correct number of apples.
