Poetry from other cultures - Caribbean
The purpose of the unit is to introduce, recap and extend pupils' knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of poetry. The poems have been selected from a variety of contemporary poets from different cultures with the unit set up as a 'round the world' experience of those cultures. The Learning Objectives for the unit are often set-up as questions, using the Mazur model of peer-questioning to facilitate individual learning.
