FRENCH {DISPLAYS} Monster verbs-opinions-idioms- questions- weather-instructions {EDITABLE}

ALL the posters and displays you can find in my French classroom: - The weather displays (I put them next to the window and everyday a pupil changes the card depending on the weather outside - they love being in charge of the weather card - you can do a monthly rota) - The Monster verbs (I have a whole wall next to my board covered with those verbs - I print them in A3 format so everybody can see them in the class - I find it so useful to have them all there - students find them very useful and check them constantly. - The behaviour displays (two displays that I put each side of my whiteboard - I put positive ticks next to students name on the angel side of the board to reward good work and if names are written under the negative smiley, students know they are close to be given a sanction) - The instruction displays (I have them all around my whiteboard and interactive board - ask students to use the target language to ask to go out of the class or get a dictionary - they find it very fun to ask in French) - The idiom displays (I have a reading corner with French books in my classroom and these idioms are all over one of the walls - it is great for GCSE and A-level students to have interesting phrases to include in their writing and speaking) - The opinion and intensifier displays (great for GCSE and A-level students to improve their writing and vary the opinions they use) - The question displays (outside my classroom, I have French questions in speech bubbles as well as common phrases used in France - I print them on A3 paper too - you can add pictures of your students linked to the speech bubbles which looks fun and interactive) For a display on progress and Assessment for Learning with the accompanying classroom ressources, please copy this link or visit my shop to find the "thinking clouds/les nuages pensants": https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/thinking-clouds-poster-booklet-all-subjects-showing-progress-afl-plenary-11263600 I hope you will enjoy my resources and if you have a question, please do not hesitate to contact me or leave me a message. French Grammar Bundle all in one : Conditionnel / Imparfait / Présent simple / Futur et passé composé

French Grammar Bundle all in one : Conditionnel / Imparfait / Présent simple / Futur et passé composé

Hi everyone! Teaching grammar can be a little bit scary if we don't know where to start. To get you started with the challenging French grammar here's a bundle with 5 tenses: 1. The simple present 2. The perfect tense (passé-composé) 3. The imperfect tense (imparfait) 4. The future (near future tense and simple future) 5. The conditional present For each tense you will find a powerpoint (between 16/22 slides) with clear explanations and corrections to save you time. Each powerpoint comes with its booklet (about 5 pages) so that students can keep track of their learning with exercises and explanations. The powerpoint is fully editable so that you can adapt it to your class. The advantage of the booklet is that students can work at their own pace and most able students can move on to the next activity easily. Each lesson follows a similar pattern: 1. Introduction to the grammar point through a real context (reading, song or video) 2. Questions to guide students in their discovery of the grammar 3. Explanations of the tense (use and formation) 4. Exercises (progressive ones from easy ones to more difficult ones: filling-gap, matching-up, speaking activities, games, writing...) Any Question Mail me at carolinemusserotte@teacherlocker.com

French Grammar : present perfect in French (lesson + exercice) / passé composé en français NO PREP

Hi everyone, Teaching tenses and especially the present perfect in French can be difficult but here’s a resource that should help you teach the present perfect tense in a fun and dynamic way. This lesson is aimed at children and teenagers but it can be adapted for the needs of adults. It contains a powerpoint with 17 slides and an activity booklet with 5 pages so that students can keep a track of their learning. It contains 11 activities in total. 1. As an introduction to the lesson students are invited to set themselves a target so that they own their learning (3 targets are offered as part of differentiation) 2. The lesson starts with a reading activity where students need to identify the verbs and make suggestions about the use and formation of the verbs. It is followed by a correction. 3. The teacher introduces the utilization of the present perfect tense 4. The teacher introduces the formation of the tense according to the three groups but also the formation with the use of être/avoir and the agreements 5. Focus on the negative form with all three groups 6. Students match up the beginning and end of sentences to check the understanding of the structure 7. Introduction to most irregular verbs 8. 3 progressive exercises 9. a writing activity 10. jeopardy in teams. Students need to say complete sentences according to the sentences they see on the board. 11. Review of objectives. Gap fill and error correcting : verbs in the present and reflexive verbs French grammar practice.

Gap fill and error correcting : verbs in the present and reflexive verbs French grammar practice.

This activity is designed to help students to develop their expertise in using the verbs to have and to be in French with correct forms, and to memorise and practise using correct pronouns for difficult reflexive verbs. the red is to support students to find the errors and the green indicates the subject so students can be encouraged to use these as a clue for both the verb formation and the gap fill for the work on reflexive verbs. There should be a fine balance between challenge and support for all abilities in this activity but feedback and comments are more than welcome.
