Le vêtements - Qui porte?- Card Game

Le vêtements - Qui porte?- Card Game

This game is a French version of the classic " I have… Who has …? " game, designed to practice the names of the clothes, the colours, the agreement between nouns and adjectives and the verb “wear”. This is an easy-to-play game and a great way to practice essential language concepts with the whole class. As students match up the answers on their cards with questions on other students’ cards, they get valuable practice with vocabulary, as well as reading and listening skills. Directions: Cut out the cards along the dotted line and laminate. For bigger classes, you might want to print several copies of each set. Give out all the cards in the set to the students. It is important to use all the cards. Choose a student to go first. I usually do that by a counting rhyme. Have the selected student read the question at the bottom of the card aloud and then put the card down. The student who has the card with the answer then reads that answer aloud. This student will then read the question at the bottom of their card and put the card down. Play continues in this fashion until all of the cards have been played. The game will end with the same student who started play. Every card in the set is connected to a card before it and a card after it. To keep the game moving at a quick pace, all students need to pay attention to every question that has been asked. I tell my younger students that this is a magic game and that the magic only works if you pay attention, which is actually true. The magic happens in the end, when the question on the last card actually matches the answer on the very first card. Enjoy!

Les vingt jours de l'été powerpoint: Do you feel your students need to revise numbers 1-20, colours, fruit and gender and agreement? Look no further, as this presentation is designed to do so. French Grammar Bundle all in one : Conditionnel / Imparfait / Présent simple / Futur et passé composé

French Grammar Bundle all in one : Conditionnel / Imparfait / Présent simple / Futur et passé composé

Hi everyone! Teaching grammar can be a little bit scary if we don't know where to start. To get you started with the challenging French grammar here's a bundle with 5 tenses: 1. The simple present 2. The perfect tense (passé-composé) 3. The imperfect tense (imparfait) 4. The future (near future tense and simple future) 5. The conditional present For each tense you will find a powerpoint (between 16/22 slides) with clear explanations and corrections to save you time. Each powerpoint comes with its booklet (about 5 pages) so that students can keep track of their learning with exercises and explanations. The powerpoint is fully editable so that you can adapt it to your class. The advantage of the booklet is that students can work at their own pace and most able students can move on to the next activity easily. Each lesson follows a similar pattern: 1. Introduction to the grammar point through a real context (reading, song or video) 2. Questions to guide students in their discovery of the grammar 3. Explanations of the tense (use and formation) 4. Exercises (progressive ones from easy ones to more difficult ones: filling-gap, matching-up, speaking activities, games, writing...) Any Question Mail me at carolinemusserotte@teacherlocker.com

FRENCH {DISPLAYS} Monster verbs-opinions-idioms- questions- weather-instructions {EDITABLE}

ALL the posters and displays you can find in my French classroom: - The weather displays (I put them next to the window and everyday a pupil changes the card depending on the weather outside - they love being in charge of the weather card - you can do a monthly rota) - The Monster verbs (I have a whole wall next to my board covered with those verbs - I print them in A3 format so everybody can see them in the class - I find it so useful to have them all there - students find them very useful and check them constantly. - The behaviour displays (two displays that I put each side of my whiteboard - I put positive ticks next to students name on the angel side of the board to reward good work and if names are written under the negative smiley, students know they are close to be given a sanction) - The instruction displays (I have them all around my whiteboard and interactive board - ask students to use the target language to ask to go out of the class or get a dictionary - they find it very fun to ask in French) - The idiom displays (I have a reading corner with French books in my classroom and these idioms are all over one of the walls - it is great for GCSE and A-level students to have interesting phrases to include in their writing and speaking) - The opinion and intensifier displays (great for GCSE and A-level students to improve their writing and vary the opinions they use) - The question displays (outside my classroom, I have French questions in speech bubbles as well as common phrases used in France - I print them on A3 paper too - you can add pictures of your students linked to the speech bubbles which looks fun and interactive) For a display on progress and Assessment for Learning with the accompanying classroom ressources, please copy this link or visit my shop to find the "thinking clouds/les nuages pensants": https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/thinking-clouds-poster-booklet-all-subjects-showing-progress-afl-plenary-11263600 I hope you will enjoy my resources and if you have a question, please do not hesitate to contact me or leave me a message. French Pronunciation Poster and exercises

French Pronunciation Poster and exercises

This is a 'silly' rule that I have been using forever with my students, teaching them not to pronounce the last silent letters S, P, D, and T in French. It does improve their pronunciation when they realise this, and this silly rule helps them remember. I have done some exercises to go with the poster (The listening exercises don't have audio, so you'll have to use your own voice!). This is part of a longer module I have written mixing pronunciation and grammar exercises. I might share it with you soon! Feedback much appreciated!

Halloween-FRENCH-monstres.Couleurs

Halloween-FRENCH-monstres.Couleurs

Package to teach about colours in FRENCH. It includes: -Power Point (33 slides) with 12 monsters (blue, red, yellow,...) for halloween. The students will practice saying the colours in French (bleu, jaune, rouge...) and make simple sentences, eg "Voici un monstre jaune". You will find all the answers recorded by a native French speaker as well as speaking activities. There is a Noughts & Crosses game to practice naming the colours. (including examples on how to play the game with the class) There is also another game to practice reading the colours and match them the correct monster. - 12 Flashcards with a picture of a monster, the colour written in French and a short sentence eg "picture - rouge -Voici un monstre rouge." - A worksheet to practice reading the words and colour the monsters accordingly. This package will allow you to differentiate the learning difficulties thanks to the recorded buttons added everywhere on the PPT. So, if a student is stuck with a colour, just press the button to hear the answer and practice repeating. FUN for kids! I have designed all the cliparts. Enjoy!
