Minibeasts: Beetle on Flower Blossom

Minibeasts: Beetle on Flower Blossom

I drew this little soft winged beetle (Malthodes minimus - Malthodes minimus) for my class after I spotted it on some blossom in a tree, on my Rydal Water walk in the Lake District, Cumbria. We used it as part of our minibeasts of Britain lessons as we explored the importance of the food chain, types of food creatures eat, habitats they live in, and role of insects in the environment. An augmented reality version of this page is available in the published book on Amazon. This will allow students to colour in the picture and then see it on their smartphone or tablet computer, along with further details from the National Curriculum. Please leave me a review and I will send you any other resource of your choice for free (contact me: office@oceansproject.com).
