Athletics Lessons Olympics

Athletics Lessons Olympics

This excel document is used to calculate points for a 30 individual and 4 team competition with your athletics lessons. The teacher (you) should split the class based on ability (ability pool on sheet 2) so that teams are fair. Overivew Consists of the leaderboards with automatic calculation depending on the points you award each pupil. Bonus Points need to be added individually by you on this page within the table. Additionally, pupils should be entered under their respective team name. Times & Distances Consists of a pupil overview of times ran and distances thrown or jumped. Pupils should be listed next to their team and whether they are top ability (pool 1) or lower ability (pool 6). Class Points Consists of the points overview which will automaticallybe added into the overview sheet when inputted. Pupils should be entered next to their team and ability pool (exactly the same as sheet 2). But this time, you will use either the ‘English Schools Athletics Association’ (ESSA) points scoring systems or ‘International Amatuer Athletics Foundation’ (IAAF) points scoring system. ESSA Junior Girls Shows a table of the English Schools Athletics Association points scoring times and conditions. ESSA Inter Girls Shows a table of the English Schools Athletics Association points scoring times and conditions. ESSA Junior Boys Shows a table of the English Schools Athletics Association points scoring times and conditions. ESSA Inter Boys Shows a table of the English Schools Athletics Association points scoring times and conditions. Bonus Points Shows some conditions to how pupils can achieve bonus points, and how many should be awarded. Tables are taken from English Schools Athletics Association website for award schemes. School Records Shows my current high schools records that have been set and the year they were set. If they are beaten I would update them and that person would recieve 15 bonus points. X’s mark those records that are unable to be set at my school. Update them for your won school or compete against mine. IAAF International Amatuer Athletics Foundation’ (IAAF) points scoring system. Adapted to suit my current high school (and times I believe pupils should be aiming for) I hope you enjoy this document, if you have any questions, queries or ways to improve it them please get in contact!

Activity for any Science video

Activity for any Science video

Use this sheet to focus students through a video of any length and give a chance of assessment. While watching the video students come up with 10 (or more if you add rows) questions and write the answers on the back. After watching, they swap and answer each others quizzes, hand them back and get them marked. There is space for feedback as well. I never let students watch videos without a purpose and as this is generic it can be kept behind the desk as a back up.

Behaviour Management Premier League Table

Behaviour Management Premier League Table

This is a fully formulated spreadsheet with a promotion zone, middle of the table zone and relegation zone (I know there’s no promotion zone in the Prem- humour me!) You enter reward points in as the weeks go by and you can order who’s where by the points by using the ‘sort largest to smallest’ function. It’s super easy to use, easy to introduce with classes, and if yours are as football mad and competitive as mine, it should be effective! I use the final half term points to see if they’ve met the class reward trip on the points thermometer on my wall. Please get in touch if you have any questions, and leave a review with suggestions or feedback. It’d be very much appreciated.

Star incentive cards

Star incentive cards

Star cards work really well with yr 7 and 8. Highlight your expectations of how students receive a star at the beginning of the term (these expectations can also be found on the back of the card). Good reward for good behaviour and an excellent way of building positive relationships with students. Also helps to get children to extra curricular clubs if spun correctly. Hand out a card to each individual student at the start of the term and it is then their responsibility to bring it along to the lessons to achieve the star if they stand out. More stars equals bigger reward for the students with the best attitude!

"This or That" Choice Card

"This or That" Choice Card

►What’s Included?◄ You will receive: -”This or That” card, pictured above; roughly 3.5 by 7 inches and 300 pixels per inch (ppi), ensuring crisp quality when printed, -Over 200 pictures of common activities in the home and school setting (in PDF format and 1.5 by 1.5 inches each with 20 pictures to a page) *Picture categories include common home activities, school activities, food/snack items, calming activities, and toys/reinforcing items ►How to Use◄ Giving children choices makes them feel like they have control and power over what they do. Although some children easily go along with teacher or parent directives, others need to feel that they have some control over their activities. Allowing children to make their own choices is a skill that they will need to acquire as they grow. This visual prompt assists in doing just that through the use of simple, concrete pictures of activities and task choices. It is especially helpful for stubborn students or children who engage in rigid behaviors. Simply select two task pictures included in the instant download (for example; art or music, wash dishes or take out the trash, recess or center time, etc.) and allow your student to select which one they’d like to complete first. This card can also be adapted for use in the home environment. It is compact enough to transport in your purse in order to assist in generalizing behavior across multiple settings. This card is especially helpful when performing activities of daily living in the community that are difficult for your child, such as going to the grocery store or running errands. ► Terms of Use ◄ This artwork is copyrighted by Roots To Growth. This purchase is strictly for non-commercial use only. You may print and use in your home, business, or public place but may not resell, reproduce, distribute by electronic means or profit in any way from the design. Behavior Bucks Classroom Management Game (Token Economy)

Behavior Bucks Classroom Management Game (Token Economy)

►What’s Included?◄ You will receive: -All 3 denominations ($1, 5, and 10) of behavior bucks displayed in the thumbnail -Reinforcement chart that serves as a visual to remind children what they are working towards *Behavior Bucks are roughly 2 by 4.5 inches each, with 6 behavior bucks to a page. Reinforcement chart is 8.5 by 11 inches. Both files are 300 pixels per inch (ppi), ensuring crisp quality when printed. ►How to Use◄ This game helps to remind students that working hard, listening to the teacher, and behaving appropriately are things that should be rewarded. Children perform better on tasks whenever an incentive is provided, which is where this product comes in! The gist is this: Good behavior is rewarded with behavior bucks. Behavior bucks can be traded for access to a variety of rewards (including activities or inexpensive items) in return for good behavior. This game can be suited for any of your classroom management needs! The rewards are completely up to you! Tangibles (like pieces of candy or access to computer games) or activities (such as being the classroom leader, or being able to sit next to a friend), can be used with this game. Rewards will be most reinforcing when tailored towards individual student preferences. (See the Reward Survey in my shop if you’d like to purchase a survey that identifies what is most reinforcing to each of your students for $1)! Reward good behaviors with behavior bucks more frequently when first implementing this game into your classroom routine. As your students become familiar with the game, you can stretch the amount of time between delivery of behavior bucks for good behaviors or increase the amount of behavior bucks needed in order for students to receive rewards. This product can be adapted to suit academic needs as well, such as homework or worksheet completion (for example, the child receives one behavior buck per 5 math problems completed, or one behavior buck per correct spelling word), or remaining actively engaged during instructional time (for example, one behavior buck each time a child participates in a discussion or remains attentive to the teacher during a lesson). ► Terms of Use ◄ This artwork is copyrighted by Roots To Growth. This purchase is strictly for non-commercial use only. You may print and use in your home, business, or public place but may not resell, reproduce, distribute by electronic means or profit in any way from the design. Unlimited amount of copies can be made for your personal use.

The Waiting Game (Self-Control/Turn-Taking Visual)

The Waiting Game (Self-Control/Turn-Taking Visual)

►What’s Included?◄ You will receive: -”The Waiting Game” card, pictured above (8.5 by 11 inches), -Semi-transparent Clocks sheet, pictured above (8.5 by 11 inches) *Both files are 300 pixels per inch (ppi), ensuring crisp quality when printed! ►How to Use◄ Younger children and children with ADHD experience significant difficulty with blurting out and waiting their turn to participate in an activity or conversation. Although frustrating, it is important to remember that they are not doing it on purpose. Impulse-control problems can be mostly neurological in nature (i.e. children with ADHD often have lower levels of dopamine, which can lead them to reflexively respond to their environment by disregarding the social norms of waiting their turn. Younger children also have difficulty taking turns because they have not properly developed the impulse control skills that come as they mature). Reminding children to stop interrupting using verbal means in front of the entire class can be embarrassing to a child with ADHD or impulse-control issues. This visual prompt serves as a reminder by using simple, concrete pictures in a discrete way. Simply display this visual to your child or student and explain to them that you would love to hear their input and have them participate in activities with the group; however, it is important that everyone gets the opportunity to participate. Hand your child or student three of the semi-transparent clocks included in this digital download and instruct them to place a clock in the corresponding position on the Waiting Game Card each time a friend/peer provides an answer. After three peers have engaged in the activity or conversation, your student is now able to engage as well! In order to reinforce The Waiting Game even more, it may be helpful to reward your child or student each time they wait the appropriate amount of turns. Once they have become accustomed to The Waiting Game, you can fade the rewards slowly.

Interactive Behavior Contracts

Interactive Behavior Contracts

►What’s Included?◄ You will receive: -5 fill-in-the-blank worksheets for students to choose a replacement behavior and reward to work for (in PDF format) ►How to Use◄ A behavior contract is a simple behavior management tool which utilizes positive reinforcement. Simply put, a behavior contract pairs positive behaviors that you would like to see your student perform with rewards that he or she can obtain when they engage in the positive behavior. A few tips on implementation: The positive behavior listed on the behavior contract should take the place of a negative behavior being exhibited by your student, and be stated in positive, goal-oriented terms. For example, a replacement behavior for students who have difficulties talking out of turn could be “I will raise my hand when I need to say something” instead of “I will not talk out of turn.” A replacement behavior for a student who engages in aggressive behaviors towards his or her peers could be “I will keep my hands to myself” instead of “I will not hit or pinch others.” Although the teacher should decide which specific behaviors to select for the behavior contract, allowing your student to offer his or her input regarding the rewards established by the contract will make the student more likely to abide by the terms of the behavior contract. If students do not abide by the terms in the contract, it could be that they did not play a big enough role in the creation of it. Picking an individualized reinforcement that incentivizes your student to engage in appropriate behaviors is key. A reinforcement survey, which can be purchased for $1.00 in my shop, is often helpful to determine what is most reinforcing for each of your students. Allow your students to color a single picture or move objects along a path each time they engage in the predetermined appropriate behavior. Every child will react differently to reward systems. Some children need very little incentive to perform appropriate behaviors, while others will need rewards delivered at a very frequent rate in order to alter maladaptive behaviors. When the latter is the case, teachers can alter the contract terms to make the goals easier to obtain. By doing this, students can obtain their rewards at a faster, more frequent rate. Once they demonstrate that they can consistently engage in the appropriate behavior, teachers can gradually increase the complexity of the replacement behavior or reduce the rate of reward delivery. ► Terms of Use ◄ This artwork is copyrighted by Roots To Growth. This purchase is strictly for non-commercial use only. You may print and use in your home, business, or public place but may not resell, reproduce, distribute by electronic means or profit in any way from the design. Reward Survey

Reward Survey

►What’s Included?◄ You will receive: -A 2 page reinforcement survey (in PDF format) -A scoring key for teachers including directions for interpreting answers (also in PDF format) ►How to Use◄ Have you noticed that some of your students do not respond to even the coolest, most unique classroom rewards? That’s because what’s reinforcing to some children may not always be reinforcing to others. This is what makes every child unique, and also why a reinforcement survey comes in handy. A reinforcement survey can provide valuable insight regarding what type of rewards and incentives your students prefer by allowing each child to give you direct feedback from their own perspective. These surveys are simple to administer and interpret, but the data it provides is invaluable. Ultimately, a reinforcement survey serves the purpose of assisting you when you need to know what motivates a student, what kind of rewards they prefer, and what they will be likely to work for! This reinforcement survey can be used with your entire class at the beginning of the year in order to get to know your students,’ as well as for the creation of a classwide incentive system. Reinforcement surveys can also be used with specific students who may be exhibiting problem behaviors to determine what a student wants to earn in order to increase appropriate classroom behaviors or develop a behavior plan. Simply have students complete the survey and then interpret their answers using the scoring key provided in this download. ► Terms of Use ◄ This artwork is copyrighted by Roots To Growth. Then this product is for you! Children of all ages who have difficulty completing tasks will benefit from this daily routine visual schedule. This visual prompt aids in keeping your child or student on task and behaving appropriately by providing them with simple, concrete reminders of the next task they will be required to complete. Break Cards and Tokens

►What’s Included?◄ You will receive: -All three variations of the break cards (three breaks, five breaks, and ten breaks) in both pink and blue colors (six break boards total) -1.5 x 1.5 inch watercolor tokens in various colors to be used in conjunction with the break cards *Break cards are roughly 8 by 4 inches and 300 pixels per inch (ppi), ensuring crisp quality when printed. ►How to Use◄ Finally, a productive way to deal with your child or student’s short attention span! Children who have difficulty expressing themselves or completing tasks often require assistance in the form of visual prompts. These visual prompts aid in keeping your child or student on task and behaving appropriately by providing them with simple, concrete reminders. Break cards are particularly helpful for students who struggle to maintain attention to tasks. Select a predetermined amount of time that your student or child needs to engage in a task before they can take a break. As soon as the time is up, allow them to take a break. Once the child takes a break, one token is removed from the break card. When all tokens have been removed, no more breaks can be taken. These cards can also be adapted for use in the home environment. They are compact enough to transport in your purse in order to assist in generalizing behavior across multiple settings. ► Terms of Use ◄ This artwork is copyrighted by Roots To Growth. Color Me Compliant! Token System

Color Me Compliant! Token System

►What’s Included?◄ You will receive: -All four color variations displayed in the thumbnail, -1.5 x 1.5 inch watercolor tokens in various colors, -And 60 pictures of reinforcing toys/activities to work for (in PDF format with 20 pictures to a page) *Product is roughly 6.9 x 3.5 inches and 300 pixels per inch (ppi), ensuring crisp quality when printed. ►How to Use◄ Do you find yourself repeating the same request three or four times before your child or student complies? Fret no more! Children perform better on tasks whenever an incentive is provided, which is where this product comes in! The gist is this: tokens can be traded for access to a variety of rewards (including activities or inexpensive items) in return for good behavior. Allow your child or student to assist in selecting a reward. This allows for optimal reinforcement, and will also facilitate the development of self-monitoring behaviors. Reward good behaviors more frequently when first implementing this product into your daily routine. As your child becomes familiar with the process of the token system, you can stretch the amount of time between delivery of tokens for good behaviors. This product can be adapted to suit any need. For example, a child who struggles to complete their nightly routine can use the token system while performing each step of this routine (one token for taking a bath, one for putting on their pajamas, and one for brushing their teeth). It can also be used for academic routines, such as homework completion (for example, the child receives one token per 5 math problems completed, or one token per correct spelling word). For children with special needs, such as Autism, this token system can be used to facilitate communication or peer interaction (for example, earning a token when making appropriate eye contact or when using appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication). For children with ADHD or inattentive behaviors, tokens can be provided when they remain seating or focused during instructional time for a pre-decided amount of time. ► Terms of Use ◄ This artwork is copyrighted by Roots To Growth.
