School of Rock: Media Unit part 2

School of Rock: Media Unit part 2

This resource contains other part of my School of Rock media unit. We look at mise-en-scene and compare film to text. The final part is the critical essay structure. It was created for a low ability S3 standard grade class. Feel free to adapt. :D

Quiz Shows Scheme of Work for AQA Controlled Test 2009

Quiz Shows Scheme of Work for AQA Controlled Test 2009

This is the first part of a scheme of learning on Quiz Shows for the AQA Controlled Test 2009. It is roughly a 4 week unit covering media language and audience. If anyone has any resources on representation, the historical context, institution and production skills I'd be more than grateful for when I write/deliver part 2 of this scheme of learning after Christmas. Thanks Paul

The Music Press Controlled Test 2007

The Music Press Controlled Test 2007

The first resource is a worksheet with the orignal front over and a recent front cover of the Smash Hits magazine. In order to approach the concept of audience within the music press I produced this worksheet to discuss changing audiences. The second resource is a 'fill in the gaps' activity that students were asked to fill in. It recalls the history of Smash Hits and addresses the changes that it went through. It is a good revision task for the histoy of the music press.
