Parents Internet Safety Newsletter & Pupil Contract

Parents Internet Safety Newsletter & Pupil Contract

These resources are ideal for school E-safety Officers, computer science co-ordinators or primary class teachers, as they help to establish some basic e-safety guidelines and to create communication between home and school. 1. The newsletter is designed to be sent to parents of primary (KS1 & KS2) children, laying out advice for parents and explaining what the school aims to achieve in the area of online security. It has been written generically enough to be used by any school, but an editable Word version is also included. 2. The pupil contract sets out an agreement of important internet safety rules and expectations to be followed in school. It also has space for a signature from the child and from the parents. Again, this has been written in a broad manner to suit most primary schools, but an editable Word version is also included. Please see the Goldtopfox shop for plenty more e-safety resources: https://www.tes.com/resources/search/?authorId=20240864&q=internet%20safety&shop=goldtopfox

Download this for FREE using the code OUTSTANDINGOCT at the checkout!* *New accounts or first-time buyers only, code expires Oct 31st 2017 This PowerPoint features 100 ethical and legal debates based on the AQA and Edexcel GCSE Computer Science specifications. As per the AQA specification, it deals with: • cyber security • mobile technologies • wireless networking • cloud storage • theft of computer code • issues around copyright of algorithms • cracking • hacking • wearable technologies • computer based implants. With a focus on privacy. It also includes some other ethical issues (e.g. relating to AI, automation) that students will find interesting. Each debate asks students to move from one side of the room or the other to make their position clear: teachers should then use questioning to foster a debate between students, encouraging them to present reasons for their choice and defend their position. This resource can be used for an entire lesson, but it is recommended as a tool to use at the end of lessons throughout the course: it's especially useful in the event that your lesson finishes early, as a good way to use the last minutes. Computing Timeline Display

Computing Timeline Display

A computing timeline I produced to go around my classroom like a frieze. It covers Babbage's difference engine in 1822 up to 2017. I use it when teaching to show how technology has evolved over a relatively short space of time.
